One Piece in Love is a spin-off One Piece manga by Daiki Ihara that began publishing electronically on the Shonen Jump+ website and app in June 2018.[4] Its first physical volume was published in December 2018.
During AnimeJapan 2025, it was announced that the series would be adapted into a short anime, with 5-part episodes released for five consecutive days starting April 1, 2025. The episodes are in vertical format and released on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.[5]
The series was on hiatus from November 7th 2021 to April 9th 2025 to allow Daiki Ihara to write independent serializations Protect Me, Shugomaru! (November 2021 to June 2022) and Yokai Buster Murakami (June 2024 to November 2024). When announcing the hiatus, Ihara stated that he initially intended to end the series altogether, but was convinced by the Jump editorial department to place it on hiatus instead, promising to return and end the series in the future. The series resumed serialization on April 10th 2025, after its anime adaptation aired.[6]
Premise[]
The premise of this gag manga spin-off is about three high school students: a young female student, her crush and a third wheel who is a One Piece fanatic. Their names are similar to the Straw Hat Pirates and the group form a fan club dedicated to One Piece. Each chapter is a parody of the series.[7][4]

- A first-year high school student who, unlike his namesake, is rather timid. He is recruited by Usopp to become captain of the pirate club.
- Koyama Nami
- A classmate who became close with Luffy due to the connection of their names. She is in love with Luffy.
- Nakatsugawa Usopp
- A One Piece fan who calls himself a sniper and aims to become brave warrior of the seas.

- A real reindeer received from a zoo.
- Yoshioka Sato
- A girl who belongs in the cooking club and is recruited by Usopp for the role of Sanji.

- The student council president of Uwazumi High School. She has a serious personality, but cannot stop thinking lewd thoughts when her switch gets turned on.
- Onozuka Ken (小野塚
顕 , Onozuka Ken?) - A boy who belongs to the kendo club. Because of his swordsmanship, Usopp inducted him into the pirate club as "Zoro".
- Fujibayashi Yuzu (
藤林優子 , Fujibayashi Yuzu?) - A girl who was in the same kindergarten as Luffy. The played pretend-dating, but she was actually serious about it. Uses the power of money to charm people around her.
- Mitsuki
- A girl who fell in love with Usopp after he saved her.
- Oda Eiichiro (尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō?)
- Nami's father, who wears a mask resembling Eiichiro Oda's avatar.
- Sato-sensei (佐藤先生, Satō-sensei?)
- A teacher at Uwazumi High School. Sometimes adopts the mannerisms of Robin because Usopp input One Piece into her brain.

Released as an original net animation, each episode of One Piece in Love is uploaded to YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok in five 1-2 minute parts.
Episode 1 features an opening theme titled "Attoteki Kaigo", though it was interrupted by Nakatsugawa Usopp before it could fully play. Episode 5 features an ending theme titled "Himitsu no Date" (秘密のデート, Himitsu no Dēto?, "Secret Date"). Both were written, composed, arranged, and performed by the author of One Piece in Love, Daiki Ihara.[19] Full versions of both songs have been produced, but not yet released.[20]
