The Owl Library is a large building located on Branch Route 8 of Elbaph hanging over the Warrior's Spring southwest of Western Village.[1]

Layout[]

The Owl Library is a large building built on Branch Route 8, which rises from the Warrior's Spring.

It contains all the books that Jaguar D. Saul managed to save from Ohara.[2] Biblo is the chief librarian for hundreds of years, and due to his Devil Fruit ability, the Iku Iku no Mi, any normal-sized book brought into the library will instantaneously grow into one more fitting for a giant to read. Fishermen who brought newspapers back would also bring them to the library to achieve this effect for easier reading.[3][4]

History[]

Past[]

The Owl Library has been around for hundreds of years with Biblo as the chief librarian.[4]

Final Saga[]

Elbaph Arc[]

After the Straw Hat Pirates arrived on Elbaph, Saul took Nico Robin, Tony Tony Chopper, Jewelry Bonney, and Lilith on a tour of the library, showing them its various genres.[3] The group was surprised to see how the books enlarged within the premises, leading Saul to introduce Biblo as its chief librarian. Lilith deduced that Biblo was the reason for the abnormal book growths, attributing it to the giant owl having the power of the Iku Iku no Mi.[4] While the rest left, Robin and Chopper remained with Saul, who showed them the Harley, one of the library's oldest books.[5]

Owl Library Set On Fire

The Owl Library is burned.

However, the tour was cut short due to an attack by the God's Knights, who had been dead set on the destruction of Elbaph's learning and literacy institutions, as part of a larger plan to subdue the giants. After taking 10 of the children from the Walrus School (and Colon) hostage, Shepherd Sommers announced to Elbaph that they would have to either destroy both the school and the library, or their children would be killed. With no other choice, Jarul acted as the giant's speaker, and ordered Ange to burn down both.[6] Ange was forced to comply by Rimoshifu Killingham, another God's Knight, who commended her on setting fire to the school. Deciding she had done enough, Killingham armed himself with a bow and arrow, and proceeded to shoot the Owl Library with flaming arrow, setting it ablaze as well.[7][8]
