One Piece Wiki

The Oykot Kingdom is a country in the East Blue where Bell-mère first met Nami and Nojiko.[3]

History[]

20 years ago, the country was ravaged by a pirate attack. In response, the Marines deployed Bell-mère and her unit to save the kingdom's citizens. After a hard struggle, Bell-mère, battered and disillusioned, lost hope of victory and was prepared to meet her end on the battlefield. But in that moment, Nojiko appeared, cradling an infant Nami in her arms. Bell-mère, moved by the sight, decided to take the two girls with her back to her hometown and chose to raise them as her own.[2]

Trivia[]

Sea King of the Great Oykot

"The Sea King of the Great Oykot".

  • "Oykot" is "Tokyo" spelled backwards.
  • In the live-action series, Nami is seen reading a map labeled "The Sea King of the Great Oykot", and comparing it to the map of the East Blue shown in the series end credits. It seems the map shows the north side of the island, which resembles a serpentine monster in shape.[4]
