Poppy feels lonely and grieves for Nerine. She worried that he had died or been arrested by the Marines, but when she learned he planned to fake his death, got annoyed that he always made decisions without asking her; despite this, she decided to continue looking for him, showing her love.

Poppy met and fell in love with Nerine. Eventually, he left her to join the Donquixote Family as a soldier.
When the Donquixote Pirates were defeated, Poppy worried that he might have died or been arrested by the Marines.
One Piece Odyssey[]
Poppy was crying in front of the Corrida Colosseum, worried about Nerine, when she was approached by the Straw Hat Pirates. After explaining the situation, they agreed to go look for him, and she told them that she had heard a rumor about someone matching his description hiding out on the New Royal Plateau.
Some time later, the Straw Hats returned without Nerine. They explained that Nerine asked them to tell her he had died, as he was scared how people would treat her if they found out he was part of the Donquixote Pirates. Poppy got annoyed at Nerine for making important decisions without consulting her, and after being informed by Sanji that he was visiting the place the two met, she decided to go find him herself.
After going to the fountain in front of the Corrida Colosseum, Poppy found Nerine, and she convinced him not to fake his death.
