The Santa Maria are larger than the Nita Maria but smaller than the Yonta Maria. Their sails are arranged the same as the Nita Maria, with a black sail with the Jolly Roger in front, two sails in the middle, the top of which contains its name, and a sail in the back.[1]
History[]
Dressrosa Arc[]
At least two Santa Maria ships were docked at Dressrosa and sailed away as the Straw Hat Grand Fleet formed and came under attack by a pirate alliance. Fujitora dropped rubble on the enemy ships, none of which hit the Santa Maria or any other Grand Fleet ships.[1]
Trivia[]
The ship, like its two counterparts, is based on the Santa Maria, the main ship of Orlumbus' namesake Christopher Columbus on his first voyage. Incidentally, this class shares the exact same name as the historical ship. "Ni," "San," and "Yon" are the Japanese words for the numbers "two", "three", and "four" respectively, indicating how the Santa Maria is in the middle of the order.
