Shokugeki no Sanji Shun Saeki Intro Image Shun Saeki:
It's an immense honor to be able to contribute to a work as prestigious as One Piece. Even if the power of the original series and the quality of Yuto Tsukuda's storyboards outclassed me for every chapter, I forced myself to create the best drawings I could!

  • 5. Crooked Cooks, Soba Salvation (庖丁無頼蕎麦遣, Hōchō Burai Soba-yarai?): While preparing to open a soba kiosk in the Flower Capital, Sanji notices that another kiosk serves food of inferior quality to the poorest customers. In response, Sanji challenges the kiosk's owner to a soba cooking contest, which he wins several days later.
  • 6. Second in Command (副料理長, Fuku Ryōrichō?): As a child, Sanji is personally asked to cook a meal for one of the Baratie's customers. Despite being sabotaged by the other cooks, he makes a dish that impresses the customer and Zeff.

Bonus Chapter[]

While eating a meal, Sanji finds out about the various high-end ingredients available on Fish-Man Island, including juicy Sea King meat, a rich and salty jelly sauce, a sea-flavored sea hash, and a rolled cake. He decides to cook with them, and begins asking directions to the nearest kitchen. However, the mermaids he's with don't want him to leave, and begin asking him to stay. He manages to push through his temptations and begins to leave, but upon seeing Shirahoshi, is turned into stone and misses his chance to cook.
