Sunlight Tree Eve is a colossal tree that absorbs sunlight and transfers it to its roots, which also supply air to the ocean floor through respiration.[1]
It was first mentioned by Neptune when asked by Nami why the ocean floor was so brightly lit. He tells her that it is like the boss of the Yurukiman Mangrove at the Sabaody Archipelago, possibly meaning that it is a larger specimen of the same species. It is through this tree's roots that Fish-Man Island is able to have light 10,000 meters below the surface of the ocean.[1]
Usopp notes the connection between it and the Treasure Tree Adam.[2]
Trivia[]
- The name of this tree, alongside that of the Treasure Tree Adam, references "Adam" and "Eve" as the first two humans, man and woman respectively, in biblical and Koranic traditions. They were expelled from the Garden of Eden for eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, committing the Original Sin.
- The top of the tree's location on the surface is unknown.
