The word syndrome refers to failure in the chromosomes. This case is a poisoning, so it would be more appropriate to translate it as Amber Lead Disease. The kanji 病 refers to any disease, not specifically to a syndrome. Coutinho305 (talk) 16:27, October 8, 2014 (UTC)

The sickness' has the sames symptoms as one that existed in Japan, and some translation stuff is explained. There's a really big post about this, so I think I'll just post from where I got it.

Sicknesses Category[]
I see discussion about creating a page has already existed, though it was six years ago. I also see someone tried to add random categories. So I chose a talk page. If Amber Lead Syndrome is not going to have a page, shouldn't this one have the Sicknesses category? That category is for all named diseases and this is a named disease, so it either gets a page or this one gets the category, in my opinion. StoopidGuy (talk) 16:32, August 4, 2020 (UTC)

"No categories for redirects"[]
In this talk page it was decided to use the Amber Lead Syndrome redirect (that goes to the Amber Lead page) to have the Amber Lead Syndrome listed as a sickness. However, User:Rgilbert27 invoked a "No categories for redirects" rule, which I currently do not know the origin. If such rule exists or comes to exist, then the wiki would be lacking information, and the Category:Sicknesses would not be listing "all the named diseases". Therefore, either the redirect gets the category, or a page is created for the Amber Lead Syndrome. StoopidGuy (talk) 01:18, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

Sorry, probably bad wording on my part. He used "No categories for redirects" as a reason to undo the edit, and I do not know the origin of that as a reason for anything, or as a rule, that's why I was hypothesizing about the rule's existence. StoopidGuy (talk) 03:04, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
