Uta's silhouette

Figured this would warrant a talk page since there's something to say for both things and some people are already being stubborn about it, but what will we do with the silhouette that appeared on page 16 of the chapter as Shanks talked about the new generation. We see a silhouette that could perfectly be a young Uta. It's not 100% clear, though. However, it fits within the context of Film Red being promoted, it fits what Shanks says about the newer generation (which I guess includes his daughter), and it fits appearance-wise. I say we can say with certainty that it's Uta. It looks like a duck, it's in a duck pond, it has to be a duck. Other thoughts? Aurora[1] | Yes? 15:41, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

If it fits appeareance-wise, then that should be good enough for now unless we had some additional evidence that would go against that being the most obvious conclusion. Damage3245 (talk) 15:42, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

It's Uta. Awaikage Talk 15:43, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Speculation doesn't belong on the wiki no matter how likely something is. SeaTerror (talk) 15:52, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

It's Uta. It's not speculation. There are no other people with that hairstyle. KingCannon (talk) 16:05, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

(Shirahoshi also has that hairstyle and would fit the new era thing) But I agree it's definitely Uta and I don't think there's any problem with saying it is. DewClamChum (talk) 16:09, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Yes it is speculation. Show me exactly where the character was stated to be Uta. SeaTerror (talk) 17:10, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

It's a manga. Things don't have to be stated to be something, because it contains pictures. It allows people to make out something by looking at the pictures. Get it? Aurora[1] | Yes? 17:17, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

We can recognize the sillhouette. It doesn't need to be stated unless you are blind. KingCannon (talk) 17:33, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Then you never saw Uta by your own logic since she was never actually shown unless you're counting the bonus pages that weren't part of the chapter. SeaTerror (talk) 17:35, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

You're the only one saying Uta wasn't shown. Uta was recognized by everyone else here. Damage3245 (talk) 17:37, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

It seems ST alone is being obstinate so I'll re-add Uta's name. Unless other objections are raised this discussion need not continue. Awaikage Talk 17:48, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Then tell me why this is different than Uta if it's "obvious" SeaTerror (talk) 18:21, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

I wasn't part of the Jack discussion but it appears the issue there was the lack of visual evidence. Awaikage Talk 18:58, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

I'm also not convinced that's Uta. I can't tell who or what that is, really, and one thing that looks like a hair-loop isn't really enough to form a solid conclusion. Her presence there would also mean Uta is canon, which is a whole other discussion.DancePowderer Talk 20:53, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

To me that looks like Uta.Opera298 (talk) 00:20, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

It's pretty clearly Uta. Oda knows what he's doing by drawing a silhouette like that at around the same time the next big movie is coming out, especially since he's even drawing whole special pages featuring her now. Speaking of which, said special page that went with this chapter had her writing a song called "New Era", which is the namesake of the chapter. Same page with the silhouette? Shanks mentions the New Era. Maybe you can call that speculation, but it seems more speculative to assume Oda is just drawing a silhouette that's distinctly similar to this special character and NOT making it her. Besides, it's not like it's the first time a movie character (created by Oda) has been referenced in the manga. Shiki had one or two mentions around the time Strong World came out (plus Chapter 0 although that isn't really a part of the manga itself. kinda more similar to the special uta pages, but I digress). If this isn't meant to be Uta, that's a huge mistake on Oda's part, because pretty much everybody saw that panel and thought of Uta. uknownada Talk 06:12, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
