Shoujou or Shojo? Edit

I know his name is supposed to mean orangutan in Japanese rather than girl and all (which I think is probably a pun considering his hair) but how exactly is it supposed to be spelled? Is it Shoujou, Shojo, or whatever? Which one is more common by the google test? Which one is used by the notable fansubs? I just want to know before doing anything.Mugiwara Franky 02:40, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Google test pops up far too many other things to be sure which one's more accurate, but I believe K-F used "Shoujou", and since it's never written anywhere, that's probably as good as we can get... Unless someone cares to wade through the huge amounts of Google results and see how many are actually talking about the character. XD --Murasaki 22:50, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
So for the sake of uniformity, we'll use Shoujou here and It's all right if I move his ship from Shojo's Ship to Shoujou. Right?Mugiwara Franky 01:22, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
I think in this case you should do what you feel if best. I have no clues myself on what the proper spelling is. Does anyone have the Kanji for it? That might help! One-Winged Hawk 08:01, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
There's no kanji, it's a name. All names (with the exceptions of Kuina, Tashigi, and people who go by titles, like 'Kiji) are written in katakana. The katakana are, however, "ショウジョウ" (shoujou). --Murasaki 22:17, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Oh sorry... I used the wrong term there. I meant Katakana, Kanji got stuck in the way in my head. It happens to us all sometimes... ^-^' One-Winged Hawk 22:40, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

One Piece Ten has it as Shojou.http://natalie.mu/comic/gallery/show/news_id/66380/image_id/118420 I'm moving it back.DancePowderer Talk 03:39, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

Morinohito Edit

Looking at Shojo's ship, on its sail it's writen "Morinohito", what's that? Is it the ship's name? leviathan_89 16:13, 27 January, 2012 (UTC)

It's not the name, the ship's name is Utan Sonar. Morinohito means human something.DancePowderer Talk 16:23, January 27, 2012 (UTC)

Morinohito (森の人?) means "man of the forest", which is what the word orangutan (an ape that Shojo resembles) also means in Malay.

Any reason why this page is called Shoujou and not Shojo? Kaido King of the Beasts (talk) 21:01, October 14, 2016 (UTC)
