As a shipping company, it is responsible for providing seafaring transportation services of various goods through cargo ships in the New World. The Marines are known clients of the company, as it was responsible for bringing building materials for Egghead 4 years ago.^[3] The company is also involved in bringing food shipments to Mary Geoise, which caused it to be targeted by the Revolutionary Army.^[2]

Since its president is a major figure within the Underworld, the company likely deals with illegal shipments as well.^[1]

15 years ago, Umit took part in the cultural trend based around the island of Elbaph. At one port, he was able to sell off a few cedar trees from Elbaph.^[4]

Four years before the present timeline, Umit Shipping was hired to deliver building materials to Egghead as part of Vegapunk's expansion projects for his laboratory.^[3]
