Hello[edit source]

Hello and welcome to One Piece Encyclopedia where everyone can edit. I notice that you love to correct spellings in any pages including the talk pages and notice you rarely add information. Why don't you tell us about yourself, let us know what you have in your mind. I hope you continue helping us in the future.

Referencing Information[edit source]

I must admit, as of late I got lazy since not many were doing it. It seems to be the thing people do the least here as it takes a long time to do. Someone has to sit down in every chapter and go through things. When I myself am at it, it takes me an hour or so to work on one chapter or two.

Referencing Information talks about the "how" if that helps. One-Winged Hawk 00:06, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

Actually[edit source]

I'm suprised no one bothered moving the giants' pages... Why didn't they. We established on Dorry's page I'd got it wrong. I think they left me to alter it... And well... I just forgot. I actually have a very bad memory, I edit what I remember on this wikia when I remember things. Thats half the reason why I don't put too much into editing because that half the time I'm trying to remember what I was doing the other half of the time when I was editing. O_o' One-Winged Hawk 00:40, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Don't let it bother you too much Emfrbl, there are plenty of people in this wiki and some of them are bound to notice such things, it's not a big deal. Hardly any harm was caused, it's OK! ^_^ MasterDeva 00:46, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
Lol, name discussions; can of worms - open. Always the case! One-Winged Hawk 10:53, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
Well... I forgot that in this wikia he have a "person" that seems to revert everything for the heck of it and cause trouble out of the most minute details. What can I possibly say...!? Immaturity and stupidity in their prime. "^_^ MasterDeva 11:01, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Another instance[edit source]

On the sea train Zoro said "Yo Ruffy". That the first of the first Water 7 eps I heard and I remember it because I went "Huh?" at it. I can't remember episode though, it was a long time ago now. One-Winged Hawk 19:13, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Suck on that Drunk Samurai, yeah! ;P MasterDeva 20:14, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
Well I'm not going to say that much, but I could pull up examples all day if I could remember every one of them. the Japanese are far from perfect on words. One-Winged Hawk 20:18, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Note on that IP[edit source]

The person who is using the IP address that keeps undoing the canon story bit on the strong wind page is currently under my watchful eye. On the discussion page he is ignoring the plea for proper language. If he edits to remove it once more, he is entering an edit war. If he uses bad language on the discussion bad once more, I'm slamming him for it. Right now... He is asking to be banned.

He or she cannot accept that Strong Wind is canon, I'd pull up the sources, but theres a whole YEAR of forum discussions... And what not to go through. The IP address belongs to an idiot anyway. I don't want to break our guidelines on this guy, let him break them for us. I'm starting to think its another troll at large here. >_<' One-Winged Hawk 20:01, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Let them wrap the rope around their neck and then hang themselves. The exact same routine as always, this troll is no different than any other! MasterDeva 20:12, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Reply[edit source]

As soon as both the RAW and the SCRIPT come out its fine. There is an old "hour wait" in our spoiler rules, but its redundant these days since circumstances THEN are different now. In those days, no reliable translation would be out before the scan was, now its not the case. One-Winged Hawk 19:13, December 10, 2009 (UTC)

The hour rule on our Spoiler Rules isn't there so its long been removed already, I didn't notice that. So yeah, scan + raw = go for it so long as its correct and you don't make a pig's ear out of adding it lol. One-Winged Hawk 19:14, December 10, 2009 (UTC)

References[edit source]

Hello, you have put recently the No references template on several articles. But most of them are non canon ones. It seems to me that it will be difficult to add references to such articles since they generally are based on only one movie or a few episodes. Kdom 17:11, December 12, 2009 (UTC)

There needs just to be satisfactory amount of links to the episode/movie/special they appear in in "ref" format and the no references template can be removed. If the character makes one appearance then one link is enough. Not much you can add unless its like a movie, promos and stuff information like that. One-Winged Hawk 17:17, December 12, 2009 (UTC)

About Zoro's Major Battles[edit source]

Umm, the section being a list that lists down his major battles is kinda enough. Putting quotation marks about which battle he had a handicap in is kinda a bit much like stating who won and who lost in each battle. Mugiwara Franky 20:21, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

Okay, for the record though they were already there, someone else had added them long ago. What I did was merely to question the need to remove them. I believe that the trivia should be at least updated to reflect the other battles not mentioned, that's just my opinion. MasterDeva 21:38, December 18, 2009 (UTC)
I think about the limit of what we can get away with is just noting when a fight was not a proper fight. I have no cribs with extra info though, but there is a difference between scoreboard counts and other bits going on, take note as well that we don't want to draw attention from the fact we have a HISTORY section on the page. Really, its a quick reference section only so the bare minimum info is the best. Kinda like listing the characters per chapter on the chapter pages.
The main reason for not "win/loss" was because it is just a list and it was fluff. Plus some fights couldn't be measured on their outcome, a fight that was interrupted for example is a pain to deal with on this win/loss system. Plus, while Crocodile fought Luffy several times, at a pinch two of those could be counted as one fight that was broken up. Either way, you should start seeing the whole thing with win/loss. And as I said, the HISTORY section covers the details of the fight anyway. One-Winged Hawk 21:52, December 18, 2009 (UTC)
Sorry my mistake, what I meant to say was to update the Zoro's trivia of handicapped battles since they will be removed from the major battles list. I wasn't talking about putting all the fights in the trivia section or anything like that! ;P MasterDeva 22:11, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

Trivia Page Topic[edit source]

Hello, We have a discussion with Angel about the Trivia Page here. Everyone opinion his worth to have Kdom 09:51, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

I made you laugh[edit source]

Then its not so bad. You know whats bad. I've signed off the holidays and I can't stay off. I'm addicted to wiki editing, well I've kept myself from the serious edits at least and I'm only talking. I'm bad aren't I? lol.

I've spent wikia editing since 2004, I can't stop and I'll properly still edit here when OP is over even if its just to finish the blanks in the pages we've left.

I kinda wrote "OPFS!2" because I was driven by a lot of annoyed anger. I don't know why MF never told me off for it. At the time, the owner, or someone linked to the site at least, had come on and let us know which site he was from and directly wrote it on the site. I went there and my heart stopped... Not because what he said was true but because he claimed many thing that made me laugh that weren't true. I read through the site and left there scratching my head because at the time we had only only 4-6 reglaur editors who hardly edited. Most of our work just came off of wikipedia and we hadn't settled down yet to REALLY improve things. I can honestly say though, once I came to the wikia once I finished transferring the shattered wikipedia pages here, I washed my hands of copying any site. Not I did that even at wikipedia, my edits always came from the provided RAWS and scanalations anyway so I was never guilty of serious website copying.

These days:

  • Greg's site is these days considered the best OP site.
  • Arlong PArk is still considered the best forum.
  • K-F's still considered the best community
  • Stephen's translations are still considered "the best" even though he gave it up.

These are the general opinions I see in OP fandoms on the English speaking net. To see a website claiming to be no.1 when at the time it was AP forums and K-Fs only and no one else stood a look in, I knew was a joke at the time. Most folks were only just coming to realize Stephen even existed I recall otherwise the list would have the translation on it too. I originally joined AP despite the warnings at K-F fansubs of its harsh environment because I knew what thing. If I was writing it now, it'd be less anger driven. I wouldn't write articles like that now. I post messages of disgust and annoyance here but no longer out of anger.

If I drank beer and stuff like that, I'd blamed it on being ****ed out of my mind at the time, but I can't even claim that. Lol.

Still if someone like Greg complains about the wikia copying, I always maintain they've got to be able to prove it. There's only so many ways you can describe water held inside a glass.

The other stuff was "fluff" I admit to fill up an article on the matter. I got used to writing essays on things back at the Beyblade fansite and to be honest... A lot of my extra stuff here is fueled by my days missing that era. I'm the person who could write dozens upon dozens of essays about a crappy show on spinning tops. Get me in the mood, I'd write books on everything I like. Lol. ^_^' One-Winged Hawk 10:54, December 23, 2009 (UTC)

Nice! ;D Usually though those who claim to be the best are only talk and no substance, I have seen THOUSANDS of websites and HUNDREDTHS of forums to say that they are "official" or "the only source for something" only to suffer a slow death after a few months/years.

If they are truly the best they will let the USERS/VISITORS decide that and none other and if the community accepts them and they become a port of it they have passed the FIRST TEST but none can remain the best forever a lot seem to forget that.

I have also seen them forget how they started from zero and afterwards claim that they are above others for various reasons and criteria... There is a saying in my country, everything will be revealed in the autopsy which means that only after the end you can judge someone for their worth, having seen their entire progress, that's all I have to say about them! ^_^ MasterDeva 15:34, December 23, 2009 (UTC)

May I join the discussion (really, this automatic e-mail are very bad for privacy :-)). First, I'm glad you couldn't keep your promise, second you did not made laugh just Master Deva (I even once wanted to make a link to your article in a "is there room in the SH crew for another girl?" discussion...) Third, I'm not convinced by your classification. Greg's site may be great but he cannot compete with the wiki. Just by the number of editor and the wiki nature, this site has become the reference for those who search something about One Piece. About AP, I really wonder how we can go to such a forum. It's impossible to read the hundred of messages that are post there. And the way they treat you reinforce my opinion. The only point I would grant them is that they are well informed concerning other thing than chapter release like the SBS or the interview. So merry Christmas to both of you, I won't be able to edit much either since I'm going to a place where ADSL is still unknown :-). At least, it will make me feel the double issue gap a little shorter Kdom 21:44, December 23, 2009 (UTC)
I am used to forums, so I can deal with AP. I've seen bigger and worst then all it has to offer. I've seen forums where I jumped in and was bounced back out as soon as I did just that. I've been on the net... Since 1996, though it wasn't until 1999 it became something serious. 2001 I joined my first real community but between 1999 and 200 I was a drifter between sites and forums.
Actually trying to look up the name of the Beyblade's main villian in seaons 1 and 3 today I found out theres a new series due next year which surprised me. But you know, in the 4 years of its absence the nets changed and theres nothing left of the Beyblade community now except old ghost stories. Theres like one big community and theri not like the ones I had back in the day (I sound so... so... Old???). The nets always changing, its a matter of just forcing yourself to accept those changes. The days of tiny quiet communities that survive well on just 8 people are gone, those died in the pre-2004 era. Now you're not considered successful unless you've got 50 members regularly passing through.
I think of the net with great sorrow these days, because things have moved on so much. Wikia are the main form of fansites these days, what used to be a one person job has been silently acknowledged as unreasonable. Dying websites are those run by just one person who never updates while the successful ones either are like the ones constantly feeding their communities like AP, K-Fs and us. But there are still those small websites out there like Greg's who exist and pull it off because their supplying those bigger ones with something solid. But unless their like Greg's, to be quite frank their not gonna last long.
I blame youtube, myspace, facebook and twitter for this change thats gone on since about 2004 since thats when those sites were just kicking off. This is the way of the nets future I'm afraid to admit. But thats how things are these days. I've been forced to accept that and thats how I deal with AP. The GOOD thing about us though is most who are editing will have leant something about wiki coding pre editing, and those that don't can still fill basic needs. And so long as you edit reglaurly a wikia will leave many of its editors feeling good about themselves since its a community effort and everyone plays some part in putting it together. Theres no need to struggle because you can't do it, there will always be another who can take over from you and help things along if its too much for you. :-/ One-Winged Hawk 01:18, December 24, 2009 (UTC)

I'm lazy[edit source]

All I did was post "Merry Christmas" on the chit chat forum and add it to our main page. :-P One-Winged Hawk 00:51, December 25, 2009 (UTC)

Merry Christmas MasterDeva (who is the lazy now?) and Happy New Year. Oh and happy editing. Tipota 12:35, January 1, 2010 (UTC)

Kashii[edit source]

The problem with that is that the other editors might not know how to get that name out in writing. Even when we knew Oars' name and what it was based on, before the spelling came out, how do you do Oor with the correct characters normally? Its an awkward way of working it for the lesser experienced editors, some may not even understand who the word is referring to. One-Winged Hawk 20:36, December 26, 2009 (UTC)

The thing is that the way is shown right now looks kind of unprofessional that's why I suggested this change. In this case it's not same thing as Oars since the difference is in the double characters only while the name doesn't change much. In other words instead of Kaashii it's Kāshī. MasterDeva 20:44, December 26, 2009 (UTC)
Well call a vote on it and see how the others feel about it. To be honest after dealing with Greg, names are the least of my concerns and I view it as "if Oda don't supply us with the name, it doesn't matter so long as we agree on ONE name to avoid confusions." One-Winged Hawk 20:54, December 26, 2009 (UTC)
Agreed! ;) MasterDeva 21:30, December 26, 2009 (UTC)
Umm, shouldn't you have called a discussion with the rest of community about moving Kashii before moving it.Mugiwara Franky 23:32, January 3, 2010 (UTC)
But Kāshī is indeed harder to write down than Kashii. It maybe the same name but it does require a proper discussion. It maybe in the gray but some people might actually care how it's written.Mugiwara Franky 00:01, January 4, 2010 (UTC)
While the Haki level is one thing, the spelling of the character is another thing. Though copy pasting is a solution to his spelling, it may not necessarily be the most preferred solution by most people. Besides that, a discussion on changing the name of a character also kinda informs other editors of the proposed decision. Changing ahead without a discussion in some to most cases can cause people to scratch their heads and at worst, can cause arguments.Mugiwara Franky 02:27, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

White gaps[edit source]

Its caused by Rich Text normally. Why Rich Text does it I don't know, something about its formatting is annoying. One-Winged Hawk 00:16, December 28, 2009 (UTC)

I know, it doesn't do any harm though to put a little warning. It seems that it has worked on other pages. Thanks for the update. MasterDeva 00:19, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
Couldn't remember if I'd told you or not.One-Winged Hawk 00:28, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
You didn't actually. I found it on one of the pages I "never read", according to Drunk Samurai, while I was doing error correction. ;D MasterDeva 00:32, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
I also raised it recently on the Site Problems page of the forum I think. Now even touching the Rich Text bit is causing it. I NEVER edit in rich text and all my recent edits have it. Its becoming annoying. One-Winged Hawk 00:37, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I read that. One question, is Rich Text turned on by default on unregistered accounts!? I don't remember having used it myself ever but that certainly seems to be the case. MasterDeva 00:41, December 28, 2009 (UTC)

Other Sites[edit source]

They can advertise on the main page links templates, but unless their a fansub/dub/translation/thiskindofthing/otherOPwikia they don't deserve a page. ;-) One-Winged Hawk 11:06, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

OK, thanks for letting me know Emfrbl. I presume that my actions were correct since it was a fan made game, right~!?
Yeah, no need for that page at all. Fanmade games aren't part of the OP merchandise or anything like that. Its made by fans and they can do what they want with it. PS, you didn't sign you message, naughty, naughty MD. One-Winged Hawk 12:36, December 29, 2009 (UTC)
Well for ONCE I wanted to get WILD!!! ;P MasterDeva 12:38, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

Usopp's lies (Usopp's arsenal)[edit source]

Since you have edited this page considerably (or at least lately). I was wondering if you know, cause I don´t remember very well; about the giant Usopp´s crew: Were Mr. 2 and / or Buggy also affected by this lie? Damërung . -- 02:03, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

At this moment I can only remember Jango (not Buggy OR Mr. 2) falling for this at the manga (Vol. 4 Chapter 29) and the anime (Episode 12)! There are others he certainly used this to (like Arlong for instance) but it doesn't coming to me now, I'll search later for it. I hope I have somewhat helped you answering your question. MasterDeva 02:41, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
I found Chopper too, in the manga (Vol. 35 Chapter 332) and the anime (Episode 236) and that's pretty much it about those who were affected, not counting fillers and movies of course. Luffy was only affected by this lie only in the anime, as far as I know, but I can't be 100% certain about it. MasterDeva 03:33, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

Speedy Bans[edit source]

Their meant for IP address who came on and either constantly vandalized over time, seriously vandalized or ignore vandalism warnings. Basically, thats suppose to be be "We've got to get this IP blocked quick" part of the page,. Otherwise, that IP has to be warned 3 times. Most vandals just go away so theres no need for a speed ban on them. Its the ones that hang around and do the damage that annoys that are the problem that needs to be ASAP. One-Winged Hawk 18:48, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up Emfrbl. So if they persist to vandalize the wiki even though hey had three warnings already they are candidates for speedy ban. MasterDeva 18:56, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
Can I go ahead and remove the entry from the list!? MasterDeva 18:58, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
Oh don't worry, they vandalised three time, throw 3 warnings on them to C and D. If they do it once more, then its fine, their already up for banment. Its just some 13 year old brat anyway by the looks of it. One-Winged Hawk 19:01, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

Article stub templates[edit source]

In most wikias, article stub templates are usually placed before navigational templates.Mugiwara Franky 03:03, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

The site navigational heading seems most effective in articles that are very long as it helps people locate them. In stubs and very short pages, they don't seem much of a help.Mugiwara Franky 03:11, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
The stub tag being above the navigational templates is kinda the best positioning when it comes to stubs. Being placed under the navigational templates or in a section above the templates creates a somewhat discorderly effect when compared to other articles. Since it somewhat conflicts with the site navigational heading, best not place the heading on a stub.Mugiwara Franky 03:20, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
Placing it under the template kinda makes it disorganized a bit to a certain point especially compared to the other articles that use the above template order.Mugiwara Franky 03:33, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
It kinda still breaks conventionality with how they were set up in the first place.Mugiwara Franky 03:44, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
But it kinda breaks the way articles are set up presented to anons and new comers. The Site Navigation heading on the other hand however breaks stub articles that use infoboxes a bit by creating somewhat of a more empty space look.Mugiwara Franky 03:57, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
The heading points readers to the navigational templates however it best serves in articles that are extremely long. In really short and stub articles, readers don't need a heading to identify where one can locate the navigational templates as they can easily find the templates in one go.Mugiwara Franky 09:23, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

Oh there was more[edit source]

I missed the other straw hats. Its best to avoid the year thingy. To be honest its subject to change by a few years as Norland's journal was said to be "over" 200 years old or what not. Joekido at one point was also using years, nice except it is subject to change over the little issue of "over". One-Winged Hawk 09:05, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

Those are my thoughts too. MasterDeva 09:07, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

Poll on whether to lift DS's ban or not[edit source]

Due to circumstances, there is a discussion as to whether to lift DS's ban or not.Mugiwara Franky 10:23, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

Animation directors[edit source]

Why you de-link directors? I think it better to redirect to Animation Directorspage. I know the article is a stub and incomplete. Tipota 10:52, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

That's the reason. Until a proper and respected article is made about each director it would be wise to remove all those red links. Of course as soon as the articles are made the links will be put back (by me, since I was the one who removed them)! MasterDeva 11:55, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

Can't[edit source]

Its a case of I wrote something I can't understand after I wrote it what the heck I was trying to say in the first place. I do this from time to time, you should see me on dragon cave. I had arguments because I struggle with writing skills from time to time. All it takes is for me to write something like "fault" instead of "thought" and I've lost what I was trying to say. :-/ One-Winged Hawk 01:12, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

That and I'm mildly dyslexic.
Take care for a few weeks anyway, enjoy your break from us. ;-D One-Winged Hawk 10:52, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

Arc Navbox[edit source]

Simant has created a Template for Arc navigation Template:NaviTable. The aim is to automatise the :Category:Chapter navig Templates. I think we should replace the old ones by using this new one. Also (and that is the main subject of my post), if you look at the template talk page, there is a mean to put the <previous|next> part into the template. This would be great because the episode are missing them, but it means that we have to undo all your efforts concerning the chapters. So what do you think ? Kdom 21:08, January 15, 2010 (UTC)

Well there is some examples in the Template:Sandbox Template :-))
You can also test it in your User:MasterDeva/Sandbox if you want. Kdom 22:16, January 15, 2010 (UTC)
Ah yes, I had seen that page before, silly me to ask... After you implement the navigational aids to the template I think it will be ready to go. One last question, will it be the exact same for all the arcs!? Because each template has a different colour and a certain "unique feel" that shows that the arc changes. Can you incorporate that change of colour too? MasterDeva 22:42, January 15, 2010 (UTC)
Yes it is a parameter of the template so there is no problem for that. Kdom 22:59, January 15, 2010 (UTC)

Chapter Navigation[edit source]

Sorry I can’t allow it, because it is not my responsibility, everyone can edit (wiki’s spirit). Anyway don’t think about it you didn’t do something wrong. Tipota 01:32, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

Image tags[edit source]

Stop changing the image tags from "File:" to "Image:". "File:" is how they're uploaded, and it's getting to be a pain reverting them all back to that. The Pope 02:52, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

I've noticed that Image: is used more in the wiki than File: and they work the same (the image appears still) so why revert it!? MasterDeva 08:12, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
There is virtually no difference between the two so please stop "reverting" my edits. The same can be said for thumb or thumbnail that reduces the size of the images displayed. MasterDeva 08:20, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
You know, if someone starts a conversation on your talk thread, you're supposed to finish it on your talk thread, not theirs.
Anyway, the other instances of "Image:" being used are due to the old file uploading system. Now it uploads under "File:", which is more versatile. It uploads as File, and it's meant to be File, so stop changing it to Image. The Pope 14:46, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
For starters please be more polite and little less "aggressive". Now, "File:" might be more versatile (because it can handle all kinds of files such as pictures, audios, videos etc.) but we don't use anything else other than images in this wiki!!
So "Image:" is used exclusively for images like we do now and "File:" for anything... else... A perfect example for that is Wikipedia which uses many different kinds of media and uses "Image:" for the handling of pictures. We of course are not Wikipedia but we use the same software, markup language and editor with them.
We don't "need" right now the "File:" tag because we only use pictures and the "Image:" was created exclusively for that. One is already used for pics and it's doing its job perfectly while the other has the potential but we don't use it to the fullest of its capabilities. The main difference between the two (besides technicalities) is purely a matter of editorial preference!!!
PS. You were right that I should have continued the discussion on my page (that's what I usually do if you didn't notice) but lately I am a little bit loose about that. Nevertheless keeping track of things is easier if everything is on the same page. MasterDeva 15:36, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
The problem is, what if we do start using files outside of images? Then we'd have image tags and file tags all over the place. It's far more convenient to have one consistent tag, then to have two separate ones.
Besides, like I mentioned, when images are uploaded, they are uploaded with the File tag; that's the way they're meant to stay. The Pope 16:32, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. There is no problem having both tags here, they are equally correct even if "File:" is now the default one. This is the same with British vs American and Japanese vs. Western style for names. Both ones work fine as it is let's leave it as is. Just, please, refrain from "blaming me" for things like this.
Because of the sarcastic comment you left in the edit description of the Pika Pika no Mi page, Emfrbl thought that we started an Edit War and we don't want that! MasterDeva 16:44, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
If we have multiple tags for the same thing, it'll get messier than it should be. It's more convenient and streamlined to have one consistent tag. The Pope 16:52, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
The reason I talked about the potential of the "File:" was strictly because if you have the "Image:" tag for images it is more convenient when you're editing (at least for me) because you know these are images only. It's only a couple of seconds difference to tell but I wouldn't have mentioned it if it didn't really bothered me when editing.
For the note, having only two tags isn't messier at all. If there were more then it would be messy indeed. MasterDeva 16:56, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't matter how many there are; if there's more than one tag that can be compressed into one, then it's more convenient to keep it in that one. And it's not like we need it to say "image" for us to know that it's an image; that's what the .jpg, .gif, png etc. extensions are for. And again, when uploading files, it always has the File: tag, so that's how it should remain. Image: was the older version before it got moved to this. The Pope 17:06, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
I can't believe that you are continuing this Buh6173. Repeating the same think over and over again won't make your point any stronger. I got it the first time you don't have to repeat it. Of course you can tell what kind of file it is by the extension but that wasn't my point.
To make things clear, what I meant was that its faster to look at the beginning of the line to see what it is ("Image" or "File") rather than having to check for the extension. An image can have many extensions (the wiki supports only the ones you mentioned) and it can take some time to check.
Even with the search function going up and down searching for example .jpg pics you'll have to repeat the search again to find the ones ending with .png and you end up going up and down waisting time and effort!
If you also take in mind that besides the different image extensions you have to look for there are also audio files then you have a mess, especially if you are editing a heavy loaded page. That's why it is easier to handle with the usage of another tag and not just one!! MasterDeva 17:22, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

You're acting like the wiki is filled with all kinds of media, when it's not.

99.9% of pages have solely images. Only specific pages have sound bites or anything like that, and in those cases you can tell what they are.

Other than that, most pages, character articles, arc pages, etc. use images. And images come in the File tag. If you're looking at a page, you'll know before you hit the "edit" button if there's going to be files other than images in there. It's not like you look at file and say "Gee, I didn't see any audio on the page before, but now I'm not sure".

It's for the sake of consistency; it's easier on an editor's eyes to have one tag to work with instead of two, and there's rarely a need to separate the two. The Pope 19:12, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

I obviously meant as an example a site like Wikipedia and not One Piece Wikia. Didn't I say already above that this site has only pictures and not other files!? I mentioned the example above as a response to you about having only one tag when clearly in Wikipedia that is not the case (same software, language etc.). The discussion is becoming repetitive and pointless.
That's the difference in a nutshell, people who have come here from Wikipedia and have spend some time there understand what I mean... I assume that you conveniently erased from your memory everything I wrote about it above... Long story short "Image:"="File:" both are correct to use both work the same. Please don't make a fuss about this! MasterDeva 19:47, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
File is the more convenient tag. If I see Image:, I'm going to convert it to File:. If you don't care that much and think that they're equal, then you should have no problem with that. The Pope 20:59, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

File/Image edit wars[edit source]

This goes out to the both of you, knock it off already! Its getting annoying to see. One-Winged Hawk 15:12, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

I think that's a bit uncalled for Emfrbl, this isn't an edit war. We are discussing civilly the matter. I was only informed of this when suddenly Buh6173 dropped a message in my talk page. MasterDeva 15:42, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, its just so happens whenever I log on lately the first thing I noticed was the changing. I guess I have bad luck. ^_^' One-Winged Hawk 16:51, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
Don't worry, I kind of grasped the situation, I imagined it was something like that. ^_^ MasterDeva 16:58, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

Romanji/Romaji[edit source]

Actually it's Romaji and not Romanji! It simply was under our radar for a long time and nobody corrected it leading to this. Don't worry I'll take care of the conversions, of course you are free to help me if you want. ;-) MasterDeva 01:59, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

I am sure(almost) that is Rōmaji. And you don’t need to change the variable "romanji" is not necessary.
This is a wikia though and we must keep the correct terms even if it means that some work is required. If it was just another fan site I wouldn't have bothered to go through this. MasterDeva 02:04, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
Yea I know we are …... but I can’t see any serious reason to change the variable’s name the display name needs to change only. (430 episode pages are waiting). Tipota 02:23, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
As I said I'm willing to change all the pages, simply because Romanji shouldn't stay in the source code of the articles and I'm willing to do it to the end. If you want, you can help me and actually if you remember you did remove the chapter navigation links and that too was a lot of work. MasterDeva 02:29, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

Trivia Undo[edit source]

May I ask why you removed the trivia from the Pacifista page? I realize that the previous discussion of the Chi Rho was that it had something to do with Kuma's chest symbol, (which it doesn't) but it is another thing entirely when it comes to the Pacifista unit name/numbers.Uncanny Ultrabeast 21:40, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

It was too trivial and trivia for sake of it isn't right (your edit was in good faith I believe and you hadn't that in mind). ;-) MasterDeva 21:53, March 2, 2010 (UTC)
Well no, I thought it to be quite relevant to put that bit of insight on the page, so I do not consider it trivial. Especially when Kuma and consequently the Pacifista seem to have a theme of Christian symbols (or in the case of the Chi Rho early Roman Christian symbology). The bible and the Kuma's crosshair chestsymbol (if the lines are connected it becomes a Celtic cross).--Uncanny Ultrabeast 22:04, March 2, 2010 (UTC)
Unless we get a confirmation from Oda it would be best to leave that bit out. It hasn't been actually confirmed that Oda had the Chi Rho symbol in mind when he made Kuma! MasterDeva 22:33, March 2, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, that is something I've been wondering about, this approval of Oda's "so says[sic]" before something gets to stay in the trivia section. I mean there is a lot that has not been mentioned by Oda and still is relevant (the main example I think, in this case is the real world pirates). Is there some system that decides that which trivia gets to stay and what doesn't or is it all case by case? While the Chi Rho is a petty detail at best and the only reason I put it on the Pacifista page because I knew it had been mentioned on Kuma's talk page.--Uncanny Ultrabeast 17:35, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
If you had actually read that discussion part better you would have noticed that Chi Ro shouldn't have made it to Kuma's page! That bit of info stayed on Kuma's page because no one checked to see if it was legit until later on. That's the same for the Pacifistas too! Information is added in the trivia section if it can contribute to the article as a whole, it's legit and doesn't contain speculation nor makes unnecessary assumptions. I hope I answered your question, if you need anything else just leave a message. ;-) MasterDeva 18:40, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
To a degree, I suppose.:) That, I've already understood, regarding contribution, speculation and assumption, but what makes something legit is somewhat unclear. Is it legit when it comes from the creator or the cultural source? I've run into the "Oda so says" argument before and find it a bit strange because in some regards it is irrelevant what his intentions were but what the outcome was. As an example I could think of "Rayleigh Scattering". Whether Oda had it in mind or not when he had Silvers Rayleigh fight Kizaru is a moot point in the sense that the connection exists regardless of his intentions. Even if it is just a coincidence should we still not inform the readers of the wikia that there exists such a connection? What would be assumption in this case is if we stated that Oda did it on purpose, because we don't know that for sure.
And to further protest my innocence, the discussion on Kuma's talk page is actually quite vague. It states that the Chi Rho reference should be removed on the grounds that Kuma's chest symbol is a Chi Rho, which it clearly isn't. But there is the thing that the Chi Rho consist of an overlapping P and X, and what are the unit number/names of the Pacifista?--Uncanny Ultrabeast 19:17, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
Sanji was troubled by the same thought too you know. ;P Their numbers might refer to the order they were created after Kuma, for example he was the first Pacifista (albeit an early incomplete one) to be produced from Dr. Vegapunk's human weapon project and others followed afterwards.
We've seen a PX-4 and Sentoumaru has mentioned a PX-1, we also know that Bartholomew Kuma himself is PX-0. As for the meaning the PX itself (not "XP" XD ), we don't have enough data to tell yet. In time it will be revealed don't worry. As I already have said your edit was on good faith and there is nothing wrong with that, nor there is a reason to defend yourself for anything.
As a final note, I am Greek and I can tell you with certainty that the Chi Ro (Χι Ρο) is two letters crossed (Χ and Ρ) making a cross that tilts on its side and the tattoos on the bodies of the Pacifistas have little to do with it! Trivias are on their nature "unencyclopedic" and mostly just for the fun of the readers, you might have noticed that Wikipedia strongly discourages placing them in any of their pages.
We have the luxury to allow them here but any trivia that's weak, loose or purely fan speculation is not allowed (the Rayleigh Scattering is a real observed phenomenon that has connections with both Rayleigh's possible name origin as well as his battle with Kizaru), you see. MasterDeva 20:13, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
Well there certainly is the fact that we will be learning at a future date more about the pacifista and their creator. And me protesting my "innocence" was done in good humor. ;)And weak, loose or purely fan speculation is certainly a more clear expression on what the trivia should be rather than being simply "legit". Even weak, loose and purely fan speculation can be "legit" and still have nothing to do with their article. Thanks for the clear up! ;)--Uncanny Ultrabeast 21:13, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your patience! ^_^ MasterDeva 21:40, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

Due to the unexpected size of the Mythbusters page, I think its time to consider to rethink it. Reverting edits on Boa Hancock[edit source]

Hello Tipota, I noticed that for no apparent reason you reverted my edits on Boa's Hancock article where I corrected the layout of the images viewed on the page. Could you explain your reasons please? MasterDeva 09:53, June 18, 2010 (UTC)

Wikia width Tipota 11:46, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
I double checked and there was no width problem with the images, so please don't revert it again. MasterDeva 15:36, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
You corrected the image layout according to your screen resolution only. If we don’t decide a specific width for all pages Everyone can change image size, so I can undo your edits. Tipota 21:40, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
I never said that you can't undo my edits, I just suggested to provide a reasonable explanation because that's the wise and natural thing to do! You're also forgetting that not all pictures have the same size so deciding on a universal page width is very difficult. Also, I have edited other pages before and this has never been a problem.
From what I'm aware of the default skin on this wiki (after a modification made some time ago) adjusts the page layout to be viewed correctly, by all users regardless of screen resolution, so there shouldn't be a problem with that. Lastly, didn't you chose your own resolution to make the changes on the page and if so how is it any different!? MasterDeva 22:12, June 18, 2010 (UTC)

I use the default skin and there is not default width in the skin check the code if you don’t believe me.

Here is the main problem with images if you change size or position in the page in different screens the images placed in different paragraphs or section.

--Tipota 23:10, June 18, 2010 (UTC)

The reason I tweaked this specific image was because of the big space underneath it and I wanted to remove it or decrease it, using a tasteless way though indeed, other than that that's exactly how I was viewing the page in my monitor. LOL talk about a big misunderstanding... MasterDeva 07:29, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

Nakama Translation[edit source]

Heya! We're still talking about translating "Nakama", it's moved to a Forum topic

http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Nakama_Translation#Discussion - Here

We're having a formal vote where you have to type "For Translation" or "Against" and sign. Even though we disagreed with what the term meant, you agreed with me that it should be translated didn't you?

"I too believe that the word "Nakama" should stay translated in every case it is used, be it in the episode names, profile pages, character relationships, etc etc. Simply because not all people who visit the site know what the word means; and they could get confused easily, if they stumbled on a term used excessively without knowing it's meaning. This way the average reader of this wikia would have no problems reading this wikia. "

That's what you said. If you still feel that way, can you please come in and vote to help me out? Thank You! DemonRin 20:02, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Hello DemonRin. Just to note something, I never disagreed with you on what the term meant, the translations you provided were accurate and I agree with you on that much but in the One Piece World and in the One Piece World only because of the many emotional scenes regarding Luffy's group that was used by them the world has a gotten deeper meaning, that's all.
I still believe though that the term should stay translated in the wikia for the reader's convenience sake. That's the only reason I'll vote to keep it translated. MasterDeva 21:32, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

SBS Vol. 54 Shibuku vs. Shigoku[edit source]

I'm sorry, but could I see the character for "shibuku" because that makes no sense? Shigoku actually means to beat up. YazzyDream 01:40, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

According to the scanlation I used, (S)しょ一もない(B)バカは(S)シバくわよ is for (S)houmonai (B)aka ha (S)hibuku and (S)そんな(B)ぼうやは(S)シバくわよ is for (S)onna (B)ouya ha (S)hibuku. MasterDeva 02:27, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Hello[edit source]

I've also noticed that it often takes you multiple edits to change a small part of an article. To avoid this, simply click on the "Show Preview" button before saving the page to make sure that it shows up as you want it to. MasterDeva 07:46, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

Thank for the piece of advice ;) The reason behind all the changes I need, however, is just my computer: many times, while editing an article, my computer had problems with connection, thus canceling all my previous work, and so I resolved to edit even little sentences of my work in order to "save" it ;) Aldarinor 08:23, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
Would you mind if I recommended you a way to "fix" your problem? MasterDeva 08:27, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
Of course I wouldn't ;) Tell me ;) Aldarinor 08:39, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
If you are using Mozilla Firefox there is an addon called Lazarus: Form Recovery which function is to save every bit of text that you write and then allow you to recover it in case of a computer or browser crash (in your case, a connection problem)! So, even if you have trouble saving a page because of your internet connection, you can resume your edits at a later point when you are able to continue. ^^ MasterDeva 09:00, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, you certainly have a point there... Thank you! ;) Aldarinor 09:01, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
Tomorrow I'll ask my old man for help in downloading the application... I wasn't able to do it by myself. xD
Hope you don't mind me making short edits for one more evening ;) Aldarinor 21:58, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
You just click on the "Add to Firefox" button and then you restart your browser, I don't see the difficulty there but sure I don't mind. ;D MasterDeva 22:08, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
It's a little bit different there, even if I don't know why... Lots of windows and need of another browser O_O Aldarinor 22:36, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, Lazarus is downloaded... But I still need lot of edits to do things right xD Sorry, I'm just that way... Would you like to have a look on my last edit of the Red Hair Pirates? I wrote something about each unknown member, and I would like to hear what you think about it ;) Aldarinor 19:22, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Contributions with m?[edit source]

May I ask you a question? I see your editing a lot of pages, but... What is it that you're editing? Many of your edits in them are just written as a m... What does that mean? Aldarinor 12:39, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

Contributions with m are edits of "small importance" or to be more precise they are mostly error correction (grammar, syntax, excess code removal) or page tweaking edits. MasterDeva 13:01, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
Oh, got it. Thank you, I was just curious ;) Aldarinor 13:39, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
No problemo, it's only natural to ask about these things. If you have any more questions regarding this wikia you can always ask me, our admins (Mugiwara Franky, BattleFranky202) or some of our senior members (One-Winged Hawk, Tipota, Kdom, Yatanogarasu, etc.).

re:Image Size[edit source]

Yea, I agree, but in this case it's acceptable. And usually it is. In other instances, I think we can use our best judgement. YazzyDream 19:24, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

Some times yes but sadly that is usually not the case. For example an image must have the text surrounding it equal the same amount of distance between white space and text. That's how images are properly displayed in books and other media and that's what I'm trying to achieve. MasterDeva 19:42, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
Hm..., I think it's fine the way it is. The image doesn't have to limited to the one area the text is about as long as it's easily viewable as an example. And when there's a serious lack of text that's what is for. --YazzyDream 19:47, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
That's not what I was talking about though... I too agree that being easily viewable very important but when it can be allingned to fit in harmony with the surrounding text it is much more pleasant to the eye. Now with that being out of the way could you do something about the huge animated image of the Kage Kage no Mi, a better smaller version would be much nicer. Subrosian did it for the Moku Moku no Mi and it already looks much nicer MasterDeva 20:02, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
Yea, I noticed that too. :( I actually can't make gifs, but I've been looking for a substitute... for a while actually. Haha. Might be a better idea to ask Subrosian. NVM! Just found a good substitue. --YazzyDream 20:18, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
HAYAI!!! ;D MasterDeva 20:25, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

infobox[edit source]

the 2 image idea fell through. Besides at this point, its not worth it because of the approaching timeskip. We'll be updating the images to the new appearances then. 21:12, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

Until that time comes let's leave the old images. Surely you don't expect that the immediate next chapter will have all the new character designs of everyone featured so far, do you? MasterDeva 21:17, September 4, 2010 (UTC)
Not at all, however that doesn't change the fact infobox 2 images isn't happenign right now. I didn't say its out of the question, but I told Kdom the idea needs rethinking. Regardless, as the current project stands, either way it shouldn't have been put into place without proper discussion, and therefore should have been removed until it happened properly and we drew an outcome. :-/ 21:22, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

re:About the Gura Gura no Mi Image[edit source]

I know where it comes from, but I disagree about it showing the best portrayal of his powers. The ability allows the user to bascially break the atmosphere/area he's around. The image should show him doing that. I know the picture from the opening looks cool. But it's not actually giving us any information since nothing's actually cracking. It just has cracks randomly going everywhere. And we only know what's going on because of hindsight. Someone who randomly stumbled upon the page might not know what's going on. "Oh, is that lightening coming out of his fists?" YazzyDream 16:56, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

The description on the side of the image clearly explains what his powers are so there is no problem with visitors getting confused. Note also that this picture shows Whitebeard using his DF from the front NOT his back and displays clearly that he uses his fists to do so, in other words he is actually shown using it. This is not about what's cool or not. MasterDeva 17:02, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
Regardless, shouldn't the image show him cracking something, since that's the whole point. And it's about the powers, not Whitebeard, so it shouldn't really matter if you see his front. Ugh, I don't really want to argue about this, since I don't think the image I uploaded is the best either. Just better than the image from the Opening. YazzyDream 17:10, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
If I wasn't sure about this I wouldn't have bothered you YazzyDream. Believe me I want anything BUT to frustrate you. The image you uploaded has some mistakes that more of cover than show the DF's powers in action. If it was otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to make the change in the first place. I hope I'm making myself understandable and I don't sound like Dragon in his first appearance. ;P MasterDeva 17:15, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
Hahaha, no no, I'm not frustrated, it's just not really something I want to bother arguing over. I just hope the anime illustrates his powers better in the future. --YazzyDream 17:22, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

Respond Please[edit source]

Forum:Image Guidelines

After all the arguments over images, and clear notes that we need image issues to be adressed... I opened up the image guidelines to be discussed and the lack of response and interest is beginning to notice. I'm putting up this message to everyone, unless I see some response, then the guidelines are fated to remain the same. One-Winged Hawk 17:07, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

We were told by a Wikia staff member that we're not allowed to incorporate the official "wikia" logo into our own. So we need to design a new one. You can submit an idea if you've got one. Eventually we'll be voting for one of them. You can check out the forum topic here. YazzyDream 23:11, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Edits that only place it on the same line and change nothing else in article are just meaningless. It is just waste of time and efforts. Ruxax 01:04, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

Since its neither your time nor effort that is "wasted" you should be fine with it. I don't know why you're fussing about this when it's so minuscule, unless of course I misunderstood something about this situation... MasterDeva 14:56, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

Brook and Super-Human Speed[edit source]

All right MasterDeva, I think its time we finish this dispute of ours, I'm not willing to back down on this and you're probably not either so that is why I'm willing to compromise concerning Brook.Master Shannara 18:45, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Please sign your messages with four tiles (~~~~), when you're talking in a discussion. It is considered bad manners if you don't. You should also write about it in the Super-Human Speed article's talk page and not here. MasterDeva 18:52, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I'm not convinced by Manga anyway... IT was suppose to be the simplest page to maintain, instead its been far more hassle then its worth. The characters I keep reverting to ARE the only guys in the class, even Dalton doesn't count. Regardless, I'm considering loosing the page to save further arguments. What should have been a relatively quiet page is becoming a nightmare over time to maintain. >_<' One-Winged Hawk 21:13, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Just because people don't read the guidelines, don't care about it, or they simply act idiotic doesn't mean that we must 'delete' the problem to make it go away. If you feel that Dalton must be removed for the sake of keeping the article 'healthy' then so be it. But saying things like "I'm not convinced by Manga" isn't something an editor in this wikia should say! If you feel like it is too much of a burden to carry on your own, you could just let other people help you and alleviate the weight. Burying our head in the sand isn't the solution to anything Emfrbl, please keep that in mind. MasterDeva 21:25, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
I must admit, I am quite upset by how its turned out. Honestly truly... the "delete" in mind is coming out quite clearly. I've now completely reverted it down to the core "we know for sure" group and I've left the disputed and "Not confirmed, but it seems like it is" group off folks have added. I'll discuss this with MF later and draw a conclusion when I'm done being upset by how the two pages are blowing out of hand... One-Winged Hawk 21:17, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Well, take it to the forum page, its time to adress these problematic pages. I'm not happy even after requesting a hault until discussion you and MS kept on the edit war. If it stays, dus has to settle on all matters. Its not so much, but their minor pages and everytime they get reverted without discussion I feel like the editors involve are completely wasting time, time that could be better spent on pages with solid cores to them and not one meant to be a list to describe a level of achievement in general. One-Winged Hawk 21:44, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

To clarify something, Master Shannara kept editing the article even though I've asked him not since we were in the middle of a debate. Check the discussions in the talk page and the page's history to see how things took place. MasterDeva 21:51, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
But if there was such a problem, a temporary "1 day" or "1 week" lock on the page can happen. While you mean well, you only make the edit war continue by undoing the edits. Though, MS is by far the reason why the pages are being discussed right now. I flat out requested that no further individuals were added without discussion, I removed the characters that HAD not been discussed and MS continued to revert even though I requested. Though it falls into MS's hands for blame, you must put yourself in a situation where discussion has to take place if the other editor isn't discussing. In my case, I admit my method is a little extreme but there are many other outstanding issues here in those pages and they've both been a problem since day 1. Thus, this is just the final straw of a a very large stack of hay. One-Winged Hawk 21:57, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
Avoiding this problem right now will have serious consequences, later in the future, to the articles that DO matter. If we let people do as they please just to stop the buzz the whole wikia will crumble. Anyways I'll write in detail my ideas of how we should handle properly those pages. Just waiting for you to start the topic in the forums. Oops I didn't notice that you had already started it, my mistake. ^_^ MasterDeva 22:08, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
Hehee, easily done, did it myself. ;-)
MF has locked the page temporary so it gives us a chance to discuss. I did start a section for sorting out characters into the speed lists as per the forum note. Now everyone is focused on the problem though, whatever happens now I hope it eases off the future problems... But no matter what I think we're going to get SOME sort of life long problems for those two pages. One-Winged Hawk 22:46, October 5, 2010 (UTC)

Apology[edit source]

MasterDeva, I have been thinking about your reasons for Brook not being counted as a SHS user and you were right, I guess I was too stubborn to see it from your point of view, I am deeply for causing you and the entire community trouble for the results of my willful opinion. Master Shannara (talk) October 10, 2010 (UTC)

Apology accepted Master Shannara but the one you should really apologize to is One-Winged Hawk aka Angel Emfrbl. When I asked you not to edit the article's page while the discussion was going on, I did it with very serious reasons in mind. One of them, was to prevent all this mess from happening! From my experience in editing this wiki for a long time, I could foresee that it would end like this and of course I tried to stop it. In the end though... I wasn't able to...
Emfrbl tried to discuss the issue with you but in the end you were the last drop to make the cup run over for her (yes Emfrbl is a female) and the situation came to this. I would appreciate it if you were willing to give her a sincere apology so we can have a happy ending. Know that only part of you was at fault here, things were strained before this recent edit war about Brook and Dalton. I don't think I have something more to say or to add anything else. MasterDeva 06:55, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

Changing the pics[edit source]

You know just because a picture is like, 1% off from the original comic doesn't mean you should have the final say on it staying that way. I mean, its the same scene therefore it should be updated. The manga pics should be only temporary until the anime catches up to that moment. Genocyber 03:02, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

The manga pics aren't "temporary until the anime catches up" nor it's a necessity to update to the anime version, though, that's something that most of the new editors do not know. I'm arguing over the "1% off" difference here but about the picture demonstrating an attack! If a picture is below the quality of the manga version then the anime will be rejected. While most of the time manga pics are replaced completely by their anime counterparts.
If the anime has apparent flaws like characters appearance, ability demonstration and so on the original pic remains. I take it that you weren't aware of our image policy so it's alright to ask if you have any questions and please don't hesitate if you do. MasterDeva 03:14, October 11, 2010 (UTC)
What exactly is this supposed flaw? This is a serious question. What aspect of this differs from the manga? He's hitting Crocodile with his forearm in both pics. There is an impact shockwave in both pics. The only difference I see is blood. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 06:08, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

'Upright=1.4' Instead of '###px' ???[edit source]

I notice you undid some of my edits on the images in Squardo, Newgate, & Ivankov's pages. Any reason for the large sizes? Part of a paragraph in Squardo's page looks kind of squeezed between the 'Stab' & the 'Hug'. I wanted to ask before I decide to change "Upright=1.4" to "###px" again.

Kaizoku-Hime 05:55, October 26, 2010 (UTC)
The generic 130px is useful most of the times but in some cases the image becomes too small or too large and doesn't fit with the surrounding text paragraphs. The "upright" tweak works with percentages and is somewhat easier to find the right image size for the section. I'll change it back into ##px if it looks to you like a shore thumb sticking out too much. ;) I would like to note though that you shouldn't change the ##px width of the images who aren't 130px exactly because they have been specifically tweaked to be like that. Thank you for notifying me about about this and have a nice day.
A small note, Squardo's section looks awfully pretty in comparison to Ivankov's "Appearance" section were the text is squeezed in the middle by the infobox AND the image.

Spelling issues[edit source]

Hello. I only wanted to ask if it would be better writing the word "model" on some zoan DF with the M or the m. --Meganoide 10:55, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

That would be Model with capital m. By the way, thanks for asking first before proceeding to make changes like that, trust me it's important to avoid any future misunderstandings beforehand instead of having to deal with them afterwards... Also, likewise with Model, Zoan too must always be written with capital z! MasterDeva 11:10, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

whitebeard picture[edit source]

Ok whats your problem with it? Are you being that much of a nit pick over the art? It's the same damn scene from the manga with the same stuff going on. Same poses, same characters, same background. Not allowing it just because you don't like the 'art style' is a crap excuse. Either keep ALL the pictures the manga or keep all of them the anime! Genocyber 21:40, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

OK, first thing to note Genocyber is to watch your language, I never talked to you that way and I would appreciate it if you didn't too! I never said that, "I don't like the art", I said that the art style used in the anime is inferior to that of the manga and nothing else.
Maybe you wouldn't care as long as you get to upload the images from the anime BUT according to our appended Image Guidelines and I quote, "Anime does not always provide a good example of the manga counterpart, in such an event it would be okay to revert the image to manga until another better image is found." if the anime is inferior to the manga then we keep the manga; note though that the opposite can also be true!
You did nothing wrong and you flawlessly followed the guide by uploading a HQ image without watermarks, subtitles etc. but if the problem is with the anime pic itself and not you then there is that much you can do. As for the "keep ALL the pictures the manga or keep all of them the anime" that just ridiculous (or as you could say 'crap') excuse to defend yourself. If the anime works we'll use the anime, if the manga works we'll use the manga. That all depends on the situation and nothing else!
I know that you can be a good editor and you have proved that yourself when you uploaded an appropriate image from the anime for the :File:Admiral ace.jpg pic when the previous ones weren't obviously up to standards (that was actually Zero62422002, lol). I know that you can understand and it's not something difficult to do. Thanks for be willing to discuss it properly and I appreciate it. Unless a better version of the File:WBPIRATES.jpg makes an appearance we'll keep the tankōbon version, which is the closest thing that we have to the manga. MasterDeva 22:06, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

What the hell? That's part of Angel's user created pages. The append was never voted into use and if it was then it would have replaced the actual image guidelines page. Plus it is your own opinion that the anime image is inferior to the manga version. Both are good images. SeaTerror 22:38, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

The 'image rejection' thing has been used to remove pictures that are overflowing a page which is part of the ammended Image Guidelines, SeaTerror. Plus it's not 'my opinion' that the art style is inferior to the original one, if you have eyes you'd see it too. Arguing on a user's talk page just to relieve your frustration over me because you think "I'm a vandal" isn't something you should do! MasterDeva 23:02, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I can't understand why you are particular about the manga version. Please tell a concrete reason. --Klobis 05:49, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

I've already mentioned the reason, the anime version in the picture displays low quality art style in comparison to the manga version. Maybe I must be more specific though, check out the faces of some of the Division Commanders in the Whitebeard Pirates. Namely, Blenheim, Fossa, Speed Jiru, Curiel and some others! They didn't draw facial lines, replaced their eyes with dots and all in all they did an awful job drawing the scene! Maybe if I had explained all that in a detail the first time it would have solved some misunderstandings. Anyway, thanks for giving me the chance to do it Klobis. These are my reasons for keeping the manga version over the specific anime pic. MasterDeva 06:04, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

Your comment to be just proves you are being biased against the anime version just because you don't like it. So I will revert it now. Also if you seriously think I'm here because I'm frustrated because of you then you honestly do not know what you are talking about. SeaTerror 17:52, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not biased against the anime version nor I don't know what I'm talking about, you know though; that description would fit you to a tee! I'm simply saying what I saw and nothing less, if you think otherwise then you really have no idea at all. I didn't say "I do not 'like' the anime version" so do not twist my words. If you honestly didn't came here to because of a grudge or something, I'll take back what I said above and I apologize.
It's really not that hard to see where that came from, honestly now, issues like Captain Gorilla, Kaizoku-Fansubs and lately the Mahito Ōba issue... and that's only things at the top of my head! You're not the most trustworthy editor around, not to mention that your behavior shows that you willingly pick fights with other editors!
The point remains though, the specific anime pic has sloppy animation which is below that of the manga. Furthermore I've stated my exact reasons for reverting it and you haven't said anything concrete to defend it! That gives me enough reasons to revert back to the tankōbon version.
My apologies again if I accused you wrongly of anything. MasterDeva 22:42, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

I think you are too nervous. All images have been replaced with anime version so far even if it has slightly bad quality. --Klobis 01:30, November 19, 2010 (UTC)

The problem is that neither of them was THAT bad in comparison to the rest of them. Well, a certain image does come to mind that could rival this one but it's not about the art style but something else. The thing is that in some cases a completely different image in the anime has replaced the manga version, for example this one. I'm not being "nervous" or anything but the issue here is, that this is one of the first images with such low quality art style that are about to replace the manga version!
Note also that not "all pictures" have been replaced by the anime as there are still images in this wiki that are used and haven't been changed so that argument isn't solid! I'm not talking about the pictures 'History section' that haven't been animated yet (because the reason is that the anime hasn't caught up yet) rather, I'm talking about the character infoboxes and the like that are still in manga form. MasterDeva 02:17, November 19, 2010 (UTC)

You mind too much small points. They are exactly same scene. I think you are egocentric. Other than you there is no person to choose manga version. --Klobis 03:18, November 19, 2010 (UTC)

Woah Klobis hold on a minute, you've crossed a line here. If you wanna start calling people names, I could easily do that to you too but that wouldn't get us anywhere and I believe you know that! You told me to give you my reasons regarding the image thing and I did. We haven't even started a vote on the matter to see who wants what and you haven't given me one concrete reason like you asked me moments ago. It is your right to believe what you want to but I take what you said as a personal insult! Since you haven't even start to provide reasons for your opinion yourself it wouldn't be appropriate to go that way. MasterDeva 03:42, November 19, 2010 (UTC)

Gif, jpg, png[edit source]

Hi there,

I wasn't aware that people are unable to update gifs, thank you for that info. I usually use still gifs to add transparency (see the picture of smoker at my talkpage, it had a white background previously). That is not possible with jpg. For the pictures I recently uploaded, that must be a mistake because it isn't needed at all, I probably forgot to change the save-settings.

So, what can I do about it? I could upload new jpg versions of the recently used ones. However, is there a way to delete the old pictures completely? Something like the "candidate for deletion" feature? (how that works is still unclear to me)

As for transparency, I will use png in the future.Jinbe 22:12, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Jinbe and the Sunny Pirates[edit source]

Hello! Don't know if you've seen it already, but I'm confused about some assertions concerning Jinbe and the Sunny Pirates. I explained myself in the Sunny Pirates' talk page and Klobis' talk page, but I get no satisfying answer. Since you removed the Confirm marks I put about this matter, I figured you're better informed than me! I would be glad if you clarified a little bit where I'm mistaken. Thanks! sff9 (talk) 14:27, January 17, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I've read those pages. Jinbe has been described as the boss of the Fishman Pirates aka Sunny Pirates so that much is certain. As for him being Fisher Tiger's right hand man that wasn't stated anywhere as far as I know. Jinbe however was stated in the manga (by Yosaku) to have unleashed 'monsters' (or only Arlong, it is ambiguous) to become a Shichibukai. The possibility of him disassembling the crew is high but until I can get that cleared up it remains ambiguous too. Last time I checked Episode 31 they had removed some lines from Yosaku's speech so it's not a good source. That's about it. MasterDeva 14:45, January 17, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for answering! Here are my reactions:
  • Jinbe however was stated in the manga (by Yosaku) to have unleashed 'monsters' (or only Arlong, it is ambiguous) to become a Shichibukai → Indeed, in Stephen's translation he states "Yosaku: In exchange for Jinbeh's participation in the Seven Armed Seas, he has set someone terrible loose in East Blue.". Don't know how I could miss that, I thought I had read this carefully... Still, as you said, it is ambiguous, so maybe the statement is worth a little rewriting. I'll give it a try.
  • I still don't get the "Fishman Pirates aka Sunny Pirates" part. Is it stated in chapter 521, as Klobis said? Could it be the line that Stephen translated "Nyon: And this Fisher Tiger fellow is now dead. It seems his fishman pirates have split into several crews."? To me, it seems rather ambiguous too. Plus, we know that the Sunny Pirates were disbanded, whereas Jinbe's still presented as "Captain of the Fishman Pirates", isn't it a contradiction?
  • In all cases, (1) the "Fishman Pirates" cannot have been disbanded when he became a Shichibukai as he's still captain, and (2) if "Fishman Pirates=Sunny Pirates" holds, it is false that he is a former captain of the Sunny Pirates, he still is! sff9 (talk) 17:02, January 17, 2011 (UTC)
From my understanding the "Fishman Pirates" are the remnants of the Sunny Pirates after they got disbanded. Macro's Pirate Crew, and the Arlong's Pirate Crew are some of the crews that were formed after that. Chapter 521 was indeed the source for all this (the line you quoted) and Klobis did good to mention that! Jinbe is still the captain of the Fishman Pirates as he left with them from Fishman Island after the war ended. That also explains why the New Fishman Pirates were formed after the old ones left. MasterDeva 21:52, January 19, 2011 (UTC)
I feel the same. But then, Jinbe has never been captain of the Sunny Pirates, nor have been Arlong and Macro, as they all became captains of their own crew. Right? sff9 (talk) 12:46, January 20, 2011 (UTC)
(P.S. sorry for being such a drag...)
That part isn't quite clear. It was implied from the conversation that "Fishman Pirates" was another name for Fisher Tiger's crew and Jinbe was referred to as Captain (Boss) of the Fishman Pirates by Yosaku. The later didn't go in detail when he referred to it so we don't know anything more than that... I think more of this will become clear in this arc unless a Databook contains additional info for Jinbe or the Sunny Pirates. Other than what I've written above is all that I know about this subject, I hope I've helped you somewhat. MasterDeva 19:04, January 20, 2011 (UTC)
Yup, in the raw Nyon indeed says "gyojin kaizokudan". I'm lost now. Maybe she's just referring to Sunny Pirates as a pirate crew of fishmen, but that's strange... Also, Jinbe was referred as captain of the Fishman Pirates in the title of Chapter 546.
Thanks a lot for your help! Hope this new arc will clear everything... sff9 (talk) 23:27, January 20, 2011 (UTC)
You're welcome. ^_^ MasterDeva 23:34, January 17, 2011 (UTC)

Making the New Forum[edit source]

I know it hasn't quite been a week, but there doesn't seem to be any activity on the admins forum page, so I was thinking of going ahead and making the voting page now. The only thing I'm on the fence about is the number of admins that should be added because that would determine the number of votes each person gets. I was thinking 4? Four admin spots and everyone can vote four times. What do you think?DancePowderer 20:18, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Four people should be enough, two bureaucrats and two admins (four admins in total) will solve our main problems and help deal with other things afterwards. We do not need more people to do the basic things! It would be appropriate to start the official voting process immediately if no significant activity has been noticed within two or three days. Next we should get in contact with a Wikia staff member to make the elected editors administrators and bureaucrats respectively. Please tell me if you agree with this and if there are any further suggestions on the matter. MasterDeva 21:33, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Great. Just one thing. I don't think the positions themselves should be discussed (who are admins who are bureaucrats) until after the voting is done. That way the four can talk amongst themselves.DancePowderer 22:40, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

That's okay by me, I think it is reasonable enough to wait. After we get our new admins to solve our main goal, we'll move on to the next step of our problem. Later we'll be free to deal with other issues more easily. MasterDeva 22:58, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Since there's been no permitted voting activity for the last three days, do you think I should adhere to the rules and declare the election over, or should I wait it out for the last two days just in case?DancePowderer 16:15, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

Whitebeard Pirates' Pictures[edit source]

Where did you get the pictures? I think that pictures are not from anime. --Klobis 06:51, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

That is incorrect Klobis, all of them where taken from the anime (specifically episode 471) and it took me quite some time to find them too. I've never uploaded fan art images in this wiki to begin with so why the doubt now...!? MasterDeva 07:32, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

LETCA Project[edit source]

Hello, I am JOP. (see signature) Remember you telling me that I should talk w/ DancePowderer about the stub chapter summaries and cover explinations? Well I did. And we decided to fix this problem. BUT. As I looked at all the Arcs, to our surprise, at least 4 arcs or so are summaryless!! These arcs include:

  • Skypiea (entire thing except like the 1st chapter)
  • Davy Back Fight Arc (Mostly)
  • Enies Lobby Arc (other than 1st 5~7 chapters)
  • Post EL Arc (Beginning)

and maybe even more. Since DancePowderer suggested that you may be willing to help, here I am. This project, from now on, I decided to officialy call "LETCA" (Let's Expand The Chapter Articles). It is optional, but if you are willing to help, please visit my talk page (link above "JOP") and confirm, so we can discuss about it. Thank you. JapaneseOPfan 06:58, January 25, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your offer JOP, I'd be glad to help. At the moment though, I am focused on tasks like referrencing articles that lack any sources and updating the old Shonen Jump covers with their tankōbon alternatives. I won't be able to participate immediately on LETCA but as soon as I'm finished with the things above I'll join the project as a member. Thanks for helping us with the summaries, we really need all the help that we can get. :D MasterDeva 19:08, January 25, 2011 (UTC)

Congratulations, Admin[edit source]

Congratulations, you are now one of the newly elected admins. Please head over to the Forum:New Admins as there are some things we need to discuss.DancePowderer 06:24, January 26, 2011 (UTC)

Imhungry4444[edit source]

I just got requested by User:Imhungry4444 in the other site to unban him here since I was the one that banned him. He says he's learned his lesson but I don't really know what to do. Maybe you could talk it out with him please and decide what to do. You appear to be the one who was having the most problem with him, and you did request his ban.Mugiwara Franky 06:54, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

New Forums help[edit source]

Please comment and contribute, as well as invite others, to these forums: Literary Technique pages: delete, Whitebeard's Powers Gallery, Characters' Real Name and Characters infobox pictures. Yatanogarasu 01:27, January 29, 2011 (UTC)

Blocking users[edit source]

Say, do you have a list of users who are banned, or know anyone who does? I like to add this template onto their user pages to keep track: Ban. Yatanogarasu 19:23, January 29, 2011 (UTC)

It was created long ago, but nobody seems to bother using it. Yatanogarasu 19:24, January 29, 2011 (UTC)
No registered user is banned at the moment. However, you can use the BlockList to see who was banned but it doesn't provide any info on their status, having remained blocked or not. If you want something more detailed, using this log will help you better. Was it what you were looking for? MasterDeva 19:37, January 29, 2011 (UTC)

Any News?[edit source]

Just wondering if wikia got back to you about the admin/bureaucrat requests. I don't think you're witholding information, I'm just wondering if they gave you an estimated amount of time it would take or something.DancePowderer 04:14, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

I just logged in and I checked out my e-mail, I received a reply only three hours ago saying that I've been granted bureaucrat rights so I can do the rest myself. Here is the full message:
From: Wikia Community Support <community@wikia.com>
Date: 30 Ιανουαρίου 2011 9:39 π.μ.
Subject: [Wikia Support Request #147057] Wikia Contact Mail - Requesting Administrator and Bureaucrat rights for users!
Send: mail-sendgrid.wikia.com
I have granted you bureaucrat rights on that wiki. You can assign the rest of the rights so that the email notifications point back to you and the votes, and not Wikia Staff handing out a bunch of rights.

Oh, excellent. Going to help go through the back log of deletion candidates. (I also badly want to change the site colors a bit, but that'll have to wait until I can use a computer not in safe mode, I can't see any color clearly.) YazzyDream 21:02, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

Uberfuzzy is probably the best staff member wikia has. SeaTerror 19:52, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Probably he is! XD

Smoker transparent gif[edit source]

Don't tell me you just deleted the picture of smoker with the transparent background? It is one thing to replace a picture for whatever reason, or even deleting pictures only used on the users profile - but doing both at the same time is unbelievable. Now the picture is gone without a talk which one the community prefers. I understood the discussion that pictures only used on the profile should be removed - but in this case YOU MADE IT a picture only used on a profile and deleted it after.

Tell me if I got it wrong, because I can't believe you would do something like that.Jinbe 17:27, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

I've explained it to you before that your .gif images are difficult to update! We already had an exact image of Smoker with the previous, smaller in size too, and I replaced it with that one. Please, use external hotlinking instead for user page ony pictures. MasterDeva 17:32, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
I don't care that it is gone from my userpage, really no problem! We had that talk already and I understand it. However, it is more about deleting pictures (used on articles) without any talk. You could have poked me and said "hey, Jinbe, this gif used on smoker might be better as png, can you do something about it?" (like you did in the past). I forgot about this one and now it is gone (and I can't fix it either because the file is deleted). Do you understand that there was work involved creating that (and other) pictures? Don't you think it would be respectful to the editors to let them know first? I would never, ever, just delete one of your uploaded pictures like that. I'm really disappointed.--Jinbe 17:48, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
You've made a number of assumptions without checking first. Who told you that any image deleted can't be recovered just as easily? Why speculate that the file has been removed for good? That is certainly not the case. Also, check all the other gif images you've uploaded and replace them with a HQ version (preferably) because I've noticed that you have uploaded plenty of them. I'll recover the file for you but please don't just convert it to a jpg or png version... MasterDeva 17:55, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
Actually never mind, I want my contributed files deleted. I will replace them with their previously used pictures to not cause any harm (and leave it at that). It seems contributing pictures, even in good will, can cause more problems than it is worth (speaking in general). I'm not mad or anything, but it is somewhat upsetting and I don't want to constantly argue over things like that.
Thanks in advance, it will take some time to revert the old pictures, I will let you know when I'm done and tagged them with deletion. Don't worry, I will leave everything in the state it was before, not blindly removing stuff. I like the wikia to much to do that.--Jinbe 18:15, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
For some of the images you've uploaded there are no alternatives so removing them won't help. I can't understand the second part of your message though... What do you mean, could you explain please? MasterDeva 18:26, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
Well, there are alternatives, the pictures used before. In other cases, the articles could live without my pictures and can do so again. That is why I said it will take some time, I don't want to blindly remove them (but bring the articles back to the point prior to my contributions, image wise). This will also solve the problem with the galleries in the devil fruit pages, since some of them contain my pictures as well.Jinbe 19:03, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
You don't have to go through all that trouble. Just add the template in the .gif images when someone adds an alternative. The gallery trouble won't go away by just removing a few gif files... MasterDeva 19:26, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
Please stop reverting my edits, I want my image contributions removed, be it a gif or any other file. I offered to bring the articles back to their old state, imagewise, and so i did.--Jinbe 22:38, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
They're not just "yours" but it's the wikia's, sort of. You're creating way more problems doing this that you can imagine! Please stop doing it!! MasterDeva 22:40, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
Then I guess I have to contact the wikia staff itself. There are about 50 pictures that I want removed, that is all.--Jinbe 22:44, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
To claim that you want an image removed you must own the copyright. Meaning that any image we use is copyrighted by Eiichiro Oda, Weekly Shōnen Jump, Toei Animation, FUNimation, Fuji TV and others. We are using all content under a Fair Use law, it isn't ours to claim! MasterDeva 22:54, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
While I'm relative new to this wiki, I do know what copyrights are. In most cases people ask an admin to delete contributed pictures and the problem is solved. I'm not asking to delete other peoples work, but my own -contributed- ones. I even said (and done) that I will bring the articles back to their old state (not just ripping the pictures out). So, if you refuse to delete them I have to ask someone else, right? This topic could be already done, reallyJinbe 23:03, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
By using that logic, since I've already reverted "your" contributions they are now "my" edits. Anyway, if you want to leave you're free to do so but please don't cause a mess. People are busy enough as it can get, they don't deserve this! MasterDeva 23:10, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
So, can I remove my image contributions now, or are you going to undo them again? The old state of the articles will be maintained (image wise). Just like I was never there. Else I have no option but turn to someone else, be it another admin or even higher. And especially because I know people are busy I don't necessarily want to bother them. Are 50 pictures really worth that hassle? (for me it is).Jinbe 23:21, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
You do know that it is you who is creating the hassle, don't you? As I said, you are free to leave if you think you must but don't create a problem with the community here. Please, stop reverting everything and causing trouble! MasterDeva 23:29, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
You know, MasterDeva, you could have just said "Ok, I respect your decision, please try to restore the previous state of the articles when you remove your contributions", and everything would be fine. I don't have to bother other admins or wikia staff, the articles may loose a few pictures (half of them are not good enough for you anyway, because of .gif) and that would be it. But I guess it wont be that easy, really sad. I hope the other admins/bureaucrats accept my plea, else what option do I have but bother the wikia staff as a whole.Jinbe 23:39, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
You're making this into a bigger deal than it is and it saddens me greatly. I never said that the .gif images are not "not good enough for me" rather, that they are difficult to update because mostly the contributor here either use jpg or png as a file format. The gif pictures can't be replaced because only files of the same type can be updated by another, which is true for any file uploaded in the wikia system. I don't understand why are you doing this... MasterDeva 23:51, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

Spoiler Template Problem[edit source]

The spoiler template doesn't do anything yet apparently its on many articles such as [1] [2]

All it does is display the info in the search box which makes it useless. Is there a way to remove it? SeaTerror 20:45, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

That's a cache problem. You'll have to await for the system to update the saved previews of the cached pages, to have it removed from the search results. MasterDeva 20:52, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
Then there's a problem with the cache because most stuff never gets removed. SeaTerror 21:19, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
Its not the first time that has happened. Also at the bottom under the templates it says the spoiler template is on the Achino Family article. SeaTerror 21:19, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
The system does get updated, I believe it's once every month if I recall correctly. You should check your side of the system first though, I see no spoiler template in the article, only the stub one is appearing... MasterDeva 21:27, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

I cleared out my cache and history and the spoiler stuff is still there. SeaTerror 22:44, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

Not in mine though, it doesn't appear in the Achino Family article... You'll have to wait for the cached search results to get updated, that's all. MasterDeva 23:22, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

A Permission[edit source]

Hey, did you know that there is a Helper rank (http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Community_Central:Helper_Group) on the wikia? Well can you make me one?

Joekido 05:12, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Only a Wikia Staff member can grant a position apart from "Administrator" and "Bureaucrat" and besides that, you have to get elected by the community first. That's how the system operates to assign someone a status with privileged rights. You should talk to other people as well and not just me, I am sorry that I can't do anything more to help... MasterDeva 05:29, January 31, 2011 (UTC)
I saw this and thought to add something, someone part of the "Helper Group" is a wikia staff member. (Didn't mean to butt in, but thought it should be pointed out). YazzyDream 06:10, January 31, 2011 (UTC)
You don't have to apologize lady, I did say that Joekido should ask of more people. Maybe that could be the way to get what you want, hmm. What do you say Joe, will you hear her out? MasterDeva 06:15, January 31, 2011 (UTC)
yeah Joekido 06:34, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

What helper? All you do is remove deletion tags even when other people want them and ignore discussions. SeaTerror 19:40, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Please don't argue on other users talk page, there is a forum thread open for you to discuss. MasterDeva 20:12, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Where is the thread? SeaTerror 20:33, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Forum:Inconsistencies Major Cleanup update[edit source]

I think the votes are in, and we should follow up and change everything accordingly. Yatanogarasu 20:25, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

I would suggest to wait for more people to come but... We've waited long enough and that's we've got! The 'Macrons' vs 'Double vowels' is still on a tie but everything has been voted for and resolved. Still we'll have to discuss how we'll implement these changes in a new section or the talk page. MasterDeva 20:34, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Check my comments in the comments section there. I brought up a point about the votes. SeaTerror 19:05, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

Your comment about JapaneseOPfan is irrelevant now, he is the creator of the LETCA project and his contributions reflect that. He has 800 edits now (not 100) and the majority are NOT user blog comments! MasterDeva 19:51, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

I was saying at the time. It was practically like that one guy who signed up just to vote. SeaTerror 19:59, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

Not exactly, he had contributions prior to the voting (although they were mostly blog comments) but he didn't just create an account to vote for like you mentioned. Well I'm happy that we now have an entire group of editors to handle actively the empty summaries. That problem was just as old as the 'file issue' we had going on... MasterDeva 20:17, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

4Kids credit tab[edit source]

Hey, this isn't a huge deal, but I thought to bring it up before taking any action concerning the "credits" tab for early episode pages for 4Kids. Your opinion would be appreciated. YazzyDream 21:21, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Forum Voting[edit source]

Can you check this out and possibly add more to it? I think this is a good way to track all the debates and votes. http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Voting SeaTerror 23:05, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know, I'll try to update it but please keep a watch for it too. I'm running behind on schedule of self assigned tasks that I'm trying to complete and strive for consistency. I'll see what a can do to help but the creation of a category especially for that purpose would be useful, to keep track of things. MasterDeva 23:43, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

Template:Whitebeardcrewmembers[edit source]

Did you read Green p.337? 16 characters (Doma, Squard, Bay, ... Andre) are officially introduced, next to four emperors. And some pirates such as Sleepy did not make appearance in manga.

named in manga (eg Doma) > "major" unnamed pirates (eg Epoida, Karma) in 16 > "minor" unnamed pirates (eg Ninth, Agsilly) > not make appearance in manga (eg Sleepy) --Klobis 13:27, February 2, 2011 (UTC)

All of them made at least a single appearance in the manga. The fact that the final designs are slightly different from the initial ones or that they were shown for a single panel doesn't change that. They are just hard to spot. The fact that Shueisha took Oda's sketches and published them as are doesn't change that either. Plus you've ignored what I've said about the commanders, most of them were "unreferenced" until the SBS revealed their names and divisions! If that were the case, ALL of them should be in order of appearance because they weren't mentioned in the chapters themselves. At the very least put those who we haven't info on (Forliewbs, Nosgarl and Sleepy) last and keep the others in order. MasterDeva 13:48, February 2, 2011 (UTC)

Two things[edit source]

First, I banned User:I forgether for repeatedly uploading those duplicate Whitebeard images, despite being warned. I hope I did the right thing, or should I have made a forum first? I made the ban 3 days. Also, we should talk about the Forum:Inconsistencies Major Cleanup, and other forums that we have to vote, like the literary device deletion. Yatanogarasu 05:31, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

It's alright, the user received three warnings so the forum was unnecessary to use. A simple rule of thump for the forum, is to use it for the older editors who have committed vandalism. Editors who are anonymous (IPs) and others, were reported in the forums because we didn't have enough admins to handle them immediately. However, those who have repeatedly broke our rules (e.g. multiple accounts) should be properly reported there. I'll have to remind you here that level 3 vandals are banned for at least a week!
Although I check the forums regularly I haven't seen a new section for discussion. Maybe it's time to start the voting in the Forum:Literary Technique pages: delete but I don't know about the other one. We have narrowed it down to Macrons OR Double Vowels (the third option was discarded) but I don't know what's next... MasterDeva 11:48, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks[edit source]

Thanks for the code dude !

1 question :

where do u live ?Roranoa zoro 23:15, February 4, 2011 (UTC)

It's-a-secret~! ^_^

Numa Numa no Mi[edit source]

I guess it's the Mato Mato no Mi you're talking about ;)

Sorry about the name, I was listening to Dragostea din tei at the moment and I got confused over the name of the Devil Fruit. XD
About the alternative one, probably it's not possible to find one now. My guess is that we will have to wait some chapters before a suitable pic is available. Is it okay with you deleting the second one? MasterDeva 00:44, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Re:Images[edit source]

No, so far the only images I used for my profile are already existing files. (except for one, which I just happened to erase a second ago before seeing your post since I couldn't see it anymore..) If they already exist, it's fine, am I correct? You may think they are uploaded for my profile since some are new... but they are files I uploaded for new SBSs I updated if you did not notice. Sorry for the trouble. JapaneseOPfan 00:22, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

The images can be easily recovered but some of them were from fillers and I doubt they were proper from the SBS (like Luffy, for instance, doing the V sign). Since they're for the SBS you could use the manga version (just like we do with chapters) but if they do not serve a good purpose they are redundant. An other example would be the drawings of the voice actors from the interviews, there wouldn't be a problem for them to be put. MasterDeva 00:44, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
..wait.. if I remember correctly, I deleted the v sign pic before uploading since I decided I didn't like it.. how did you know I even attempted to do this? Is is still there?! I can't see it... JapaneseOPfan 00:49, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, and please post on my talk page so I become aware of your post immidiately. Sorry for the inconvenience. JapaneseOPfan 00:52, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
The norm is to post the whole discussion in one page to keep track of it. It's easier for me too. You had uploaded that image twice under a slightly different name (they were different in sizes though). I'll note that only editors with administrator rights and above can delete files here (besides the Wikia Staff and Helpers) so it is unlikely that you deleted the file yourself... MasterDeva 01:18, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
No, I added it on a slideshow on my profile and anyone can delete it from that slideshow, including myself. (each picture has this "delete" button on it.) ..well, at least, "I deleted it from my own profile" is the correct way of saying this, I guess. Judging from what you said, does the file appear as soon as you upload it even if you don't save your changes? If so, things will start making sense, since I deleted both files from my slideshow before publishing it. JapaneseOPfan 01:38, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
As soon as a file gets uploaded, it can be viewed by anyone regardless if it has been added to a page or not. Just because you removed it from an image gallery or didn't save the changes you've made in a page the file itself will stay until it actually gets deleted. The only thing that changes, is that it won't be shown in a page any more but that's there is all to it. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me any time. :) MasterDeva 02:06, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Hopefully a non-creepy question[edit source]

Hey Deva, I'm hoping this doesn't sound vaguely creepy, but I'm not sure what to refer to you as when talking to other users, as in "he" or "she". I mean, I could guess, but I'm not 100% sure, and it's a bit embarrassing not knowing what gender a fellow Admin is, so... haha I hope that's not an uncomfortable question. --YazzyDream 03:11, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

I thought it was obvious from the way I'm writing here that I am a male... Well it wasn't an awkward or creepy question by any means (for me) so don't worry about it! =^_^= MasterDeva 03:20, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, ok, good. Haha, I didn't know how to ask without making it sound awkward. --YazzyDream 03:36, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Urgent News[edit source]

Unfortunately I won't be around a computer for the next three weeks (maybe even more) and I'll be unable to provide help or assistance for that time span. I'm thinking of granting DancePowderer Bureaucrat status, thus, our wiki will not left with just one in my absence and the site continues to operate smoothly. I'll write about it in the related forum too so editors can be informed properly. MasterDeva 06:25, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

Literary Technique[edit source]

Can I delete all the Literary Technique pages yet? I think we don't need them, and nobody is bothering to merge them, nor is anyone giving talk in the forum page anymore. Speaking of which, we really should finish the votes on the "inconsistencies" forum. Yatanogarasu 19:53, February 8, 2011 (UTC)

replacing anime images[edit source]

Im just curious why are you replacing the anime image's and putting the manga back, you did it numeries times on Edward Newgate's page we,re suppose to use the anime image's when the new episode comes out?HollowIchigo58 19:46, February 9, 2011 (UTC)

Chapter 577[edit source]

I just wanted you to know that chapter 577 doesn't have a raw cover. I tried to look up a good one, but it's always either it's only half raw, it's really poor quality, or I just can't access it. Can you do something about this? JapaneseOPfan 01:10, February 14, 2011 (UTC)

Hey![edit source]

I see you're back now. How's it going? At first I thought you were back about a week ago when you made a couple of minor edits but I'm guessing you are back for real this time. Anyway, glad to see you again, and hope everything (whatever it was during the three weeks) went ok. Oh, and did I mention I have a new signature? :) DancePowderer Talk 14:10, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

Hello DancePowderer and congratulations for your new signature! :D Those last weeks were really tiring and I'm afraid that I'll be forced to leave again for an unknown duration of time... Other than that I try to keep myself updated with the wiki's progress and discussions on various issues. I'm glad that nothing "major" happened while I was away, I'm sure though that you guys can handle things well even at my absence. From the impression I got after reading some messages you are doing fine and don't have a problem staying a Bureaucrat, correct? MasterDeva 14:21, February 28, 2011 (UTC)
Right, everything's fine. I still may change my mind somewhere a ways down the road, but for the time being, I'm happy to be a bureaucrat. DancePowderer Talk 14:27, February 28, 2011 (UTC)
I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you. ^_^ MasterDeva 15:25, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

Contacting Main Wikia[edit source]

Can you please tell me where to go to on the community wikia site to ask for staff help on an issue? I was moving the Chou-Chou page and something hit the fan, and all the history was lost in the process. I need to contact the main wikia to see if someone can help me salvage it. I know you went to the main wikia to request admin status, so could you tell me who to contact and where I should go to do so? Thank you. DancePowderer Talk 06:42, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

I've fixed it for you and didn't have to contact the wikia stuff at all, that's the pros for being a bureaucrat. ^_- In all seriousness though please try to be more careful when using the 'delete' function to work on pages. The next time maybe it won't be so easy to fix, so use it with some restrain; when dealing with tasks like moving a page to a new name I never had to use it prior to becoming an admin or after! MasterDeva 10:02, March 3, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, and I will. I only used the delete and replace thing because the page's new name, Chu-Chu, already existed as a redirect. The only way I knew to properly move the page was to delete it and replace it with the moved page under the same name, which I've done with other pages when moving them with no problem at all. Again, thank you, and I'll be sure that this is the last time something like this happens. Incidently, could you tell me what you did to recover it so I know just in case something like this happens again? Thanks :) DancePowderer Talk 14:30, March 3, 2011 (UTC)
It was quite simple really, just go to the 'deleted' page and restore it's history, it's similar to the way you restore an article that has been erased. That's something that anyone with Administrator status privileges and above can do. ;) MasterDeva 15:07, March 3, 2011 (UTC)
Alright, thank you. :) DancePowderer Talk 15:39, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

Great work, MasterDeva, can you please teach me how to fix things like this? I didn't know how, makes me kinda feel so lacking in experience as a fellow bureaucrat. Yatanogarasu 17:53, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

Merge all Voice Actors/Seiyu[edit source]

Didn't you mention something about merging all the voice actors and seiyu into one page or something? Or did Klobis or DancePowderer said that? Can't remember, but should we proceed with it? Yatanogarasu 05:18, March 4, 2011 (UTC)

Site Poll[edit source]

Do you think this site poll thing is getting out of hand? I mean, they don't really serve much purpose aside from seeing the editors' opinions, and people keep adding new options, thus resetting them repeatedly. It may also give off a sense of bias, seeing how people like one thing more than the other. How about we put up a new rule to ban it altogether? Yatanogarasu 08:06, March 5, 2011 (UTC)

Hello MasterDeva,

since you participated in the Devil Fruit colorscheme thread, I thought you might be interested in the follow up: Devil fruit color schemes: suggestions

Good day MasterDeva,

I just want to inform you (as one of the admins), that the Devil Fruit color scheme topic is officially sorted and the voting result executed. On top of that, I want to thank you for your participation. I'm grateful that you could find the time to vote, despite being occupied in real life. I hope the reason for your absence is a pleasant one, and if not, good luck with whatever you have to shoulder at the moment.

Here are the three threads in chronological order, if you ever need to look them up again:

Devil Fruit Colorschemes (general discussion + official vote)

Devil fruit color schemes: suggestions (suggestion phase)

Devil fruit color schemes: the quick vote! (decision concerning the suggestions)

Rakuyo gif[edit source]

If you have time, can you take a look at the gif in the abilities and powers section on Rakuyo's page? It's supposed to show Rakuyo's flail biting through Kizaru, but it mostly shows Kizaru shooting beams and there is a split second instant of Rakuyo's flail biting him. If you could fix it, or if necessary, make a new one, that would be much appreciated. No rush. Thanks a lot.DancePowderer Talk 17:29, April 8, 2011 (UTC)

chat requested[edit source]

I sure you are aware of the new chat feature on wikias ; I have requested a chat feature on this wikia also , then I realized that I must have spoken to the admins first , so is it alright or should I remove the request ?--Roranoa zoro [Talk] 23:08,4/21/2011

Do we really need a "chat feature" in this wikia? It looks to me like another attempt to make this site look more like a blog rather than an encyclopedia. My honest opinion is that we don't need that kind of a feature, we should wait though for what the other admins have to say before we reach a decision. MasterDeva 06:21, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
The chat is really good , I mean everyone wants it , DP and I have checked it ( I also contributed to the development of chat upto some extent :) ) ... Incase you dont know how a chat looks like , here's the link :http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Chat... but If you still dont want it, I'll happily remove it .--Roranoa zoro [Talk] 09:51,4/22/2011

Chiqiceetah[edit source]

Hi. About the Chiqicheetah page, in November we (me, you, other users...) said he's a DF user even if it's not clearly specified. Someone removed the "DF users" template, as well as the "main article: Neko Neko no Mi, model: Cheetah" etc. I don't like war edits so I didn't re-add them, but since you're the last one on that discussion page, and you are more expert than me, I'm asking you if we should re-add them. --Meganoide 23:07, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

If that person wanted to do things properly he would have used the talk page since there was already discussion on the topic. I suggest that you add back everything he removed about the Devil Fruit. If he removes it again though direct him to talk page to discuss things out. MasterDeva 08:17, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

"The war is over" picture[edit source]

Hey, I saw that you put the "the war is over" picture back in the Marineford arc page. Arent there any better pictures to show the end of the war, like shots of the people cheering everywhere? Because this picture tells me nothing about the end of the war it just shows ships and a troubled sea, but that might as well be at any given point during the war...Panda 15:23, April 30, 2011 (UTC)

That picture shows the destroyed state that Marineford has ended up as, the end result of the war between the forces of Whitebeard and the Marines. If you check the manga you'll see that that the picture truly signals the end of the war, with Sengoku even stating that it's over (in the form of speech bubbles on top of it). Shots of people cheering doesn't say much in my honest opinion... MasterDeva 16:16, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
Well i must agree somewhat with panda, the picture doesn't really show anything - the only hint is the destroyed building, but that happened during the second half of the war, not at the very end. It is true that it is the snapshot where Sengoku ended the war, but that is the point: the context is missing. Without hearing Sengoku scream or even reading the filled speech bubbles, it is just a picture showing a troubled see and a slightly damaged marinefold.
A better option would be Sengoku after the war, looking worried upon the battlefield, if you know which one i mean. If that isn't sufficient as well, we should still remove it. I think everyone agreed that we should get rid of unnecessary pictures in the arcs, this one is kinda one we can live without. Jinbe  Talk  16:32, April 30, 2011 (UTC)

Favicon[edit source]

Hi! I have a question on the favicon, to change the favicon of the wikia it's only needed to upload a file named "Favicion.ico" (and it has to be a proper icon file), right? I read it here. Don't worry, I want to upload the favicon of another wikia, but after I upload it nothing changed... by any chance is there something the admin should do? Like edit some settings of the wikia or something else?

I've got this for u Deva :

  1. It must be an icon .
  1. It must be 16x16 .
You dont need to any mediawiki tool .Roranoa zoro [Talk] 10:00,5/3/2011
I resolved... After a few days it works, maybe it was a cache problem. Speaking of which, I don't know if anything can be done, but you should tell someone at the central wikia about the image glitch, it's really annoying sometimes... leviathan_89 11:30, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

I am sorry[edit source]

I know this is probably a bit embarrasing, and I don't know if I'm even allowed to do this on this page, but it's been bothering me for months now. I realize I've immaturely argued with you in the past with some stupid things. Looking back, I don't really know what I was thinking. I never listened to your points, I insulted you, and I've been shoving my points down your throat when I should have been more mature about it. I don't agree with your points, but that doesn't mean I should have acted that way. I feel I should have either just left it alone now or try and be reasonable with you. I did neither. I'm a bit ashamed that I spoke to you that way and it's pretty embarrasing apologizing to somebody in public like this. If this isn't what talk pages are for, I don't really care right now. I'm just a bit desperate to tell you I'm sorry for my actions in the past, and I'll make sure to try and be reasonable next time somebody says something I don't agree with. Uknownada 23:02, May 7, 2011 (UTC)

The only way to undo a ban is to take it to the forums and put the request in the right place; the editors then have to vote on it. Just noting... If the editors say no, you loose the chance forever.One-Winged Hawk 21:55, May 10, 2011 (UTC)

Good to see you[edit source]

Hey, I just saw you were doing a lot of editing today and last night. It's good to see you back. This is the longest period of time I've seen you on here since you said you had to leave way back when. It's good to see you back.DancePowderer Talk 22:55, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

I'm happy to see you too guys. A lot of things happened after that last time. I got hospitalized for nearly a month with high fever and it got harder for me to get back on my feet later on. After that I couldn't help with the encyclopedia and be as active I was in the past... Well for now I'll try to do my best as long as I'm back. MasterDeva 23:28, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

Wow, glad to see you're doing better, and that you can contribute for a while.DancePowderer Talk 23:50, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

By the way, I don't think that renaming Black Leg Style to Black Leg Technique is the right thing to do before properly discussing it first in the talk page. It seems that KishinZoro177 renamed it out of the blue and that might create problems. Could you check it out? MasterDeva 23:58, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'll take care of it.DancePowderer Talk 00:39, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

Image Guidelines Issues[edit source]

We've been having trouble with images being uploaded lately, so with Leviathan 89's suggestion, I've recreated the MediaWiki:Uploadtext, and put some basic guidelines there. What I wrote, therefore, should appear in Special:Upload. As a fellow admin, please check it out to see if it looks right, or if it needs any rectification. Thanks, and welcome back. Yata Talk to me 00:24, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

I've been keeping an eye on that, thanks for the notice. I'll check it out as soon as possible. It was about time something like this happened, I hope this will make things easier for us. MasterDeva 00:30, November 28, 2011 (UTC)
The primary points are well emphasized and those are exactly some of the problems we deal with daily and are striving to solve. There is only one thing I noticed that should be slightly rephrased which is worded as "No images with watermarks, scanlation texts and/or fan-subtitles" at the moment. Although that's mostly true there are cases were scanlations (or fansubs) are allowed (Category:Scanlation Images Allowed) because they provide useful information which mainly include but are not limited to: a) location/illustration images (maps, diagrams, etc.), b) small sized text that summarizes the explanation of a Devil Fruit ability (Buggy and Crocodile) and c) explanations of the inside mechanics of the One Piece world be it a natural event or an object. Please consider these points I've expressed above and give me your opinion, I look forward to reading it. MasterDeva 01:25, November 28, 2011 (UTC)
Well, your suggestion makes sense, but next time, would you mind answering my user talk page instead of your own? I don't check other people's pages (I only stumbled onto here when I was looking at the Special:WikiActivity that you made the edit here). Once again, thanks for your opinion, they make very good points. Yata Talk to me 01:57, November 28, 2011 (UTC)
I know that it can be a bit difficult to you if you want to check for replies but that way it's easier for me to keep the flow of the conversation and have everything in one place (otherwise it gets confusing). If you like, I could copy my responses to your talk page as well but if possible continue the conversation in only one talk page and not several. Sorry for the inconvenience I'm causing you, but I get disoriented from having to go back and forth when writing or reading responses from others. MasterDeva 02:08, November 28, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, okay. No need to copy, but thanks anyways. I just needed to know how you operate, so I know where to check. And thanks for your suggestion once again. If you see any more problems, feel free to edit the guidelines yourself. Yata Talk to me 02:12, November 28, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I'm not the best with code settings. So do you know anyone who is, to help fix the problem? I see the message myself, I don't know about what's going on with everyone else. Yata Talk to me 01:23, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
I'm working on it, let's see if I can do something about it. I'll let you know if I've managed to fix it. MasterDeva 02:15, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. Yata Talk to me 03:31, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
I have found the reason why the Guidelines Warning message isn't visible for some users. It appears that users who have not selected the English language in their account preferences can not view the text. For the ones though that have chosen the wikia to be viewed in English, the text is displayed properly for single and multiple file uploads. MasterDeva 05:20, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
Okay, so can we change the code to include to non-English account users as well? Everyone should know about the regulations, it would really lower the amount of deletion of poorly uploaded images for us. Yata Talk to me 05:37, November 29, 2011 (UTC)

Image Thumbnails[edit source]

Though I'm more active on other wikias, this site is amazing and I contribute to it where I can. However, I have a question: When thumbnail images are added to other wikis, an extra tag is added beneath the image caption (or just under the image if there is no caption) naming the user who added the picture. I notice that this doesn't happen on your site and I was wondering if you could tell me how you managed that. I find the tag rather bothersome and would like to remove it if possible on sites like FMA wiki and Kenshin wiki. CorbeauKarasu 01:04, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

Do you not know, then, why it's different here? CorbeauKarasu 07:27, November 29, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for not replying earlier but other things had my attention and I was occupied. Anyway, we edited the MediaWiki:Wikia.css to include the following code:
/* Hides image attribution on articles */
.picture-attribution { display:none !important; }

Once you add that, the "Added by username" won't appear in the file's description. ^_^ MasterDeva 15:19, November 29, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks so much! ^^ CorbeauKarasu 22:38, November 29, 2011 (UTC)

Imhungry4444[edit source]

User:Imhungry4444 has contacted me over at the One Piece Wikii, requesting me to contact you and DancePowderer about his apparent ban here. I'm not sure what happened but here is what he has to say on your talk page at Wikii.

where were these bans a year ago when i was "terrorizing" people? huh? did MDM or MJ complain? did they send you a complaint? did they send anyone a complaint that i was being a jerk or anything like that? no. MDM and Rici just asked DP to take it down. not block me or ban me. cause their not....how you say, jackasses. no offense. they know how to take a joke. you on the other hand dont seem to get the picture. i know your an admin and all and im supposed to act like i care about your so called "title" but heres a newsflash. your only giving yourself a false sense of authority with this "ban". also i didnt receive any warnings on my talk page. you shoulda warned me first then banned me if i continued. there were no warnings so this ban is a misuse of "power" on your part. i probably woulda stopped if you or DP woulda warned me but you didnt so what the fuck? are you trying to lose respect among your fellow wikians? cause if you are and this ban is continued through to the end of my "sentence" then you have succeeded. --Imhungry4444 04:46, 28 November 2011 (EST)

also, i guess everyone forgot how panda did that to me. wow thats awesome. i do it twice with no warnings and i get banned for a month and pandawarrior does it once and everyone forgets about it. awesome. shes the one who fucking showed me how to do it. heres proof: http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Imhungry4444/2_Years_and_136_Days_of_Hungry

As evidenced by what he wrote, something really heated happened here. It would be best you guys properly sort it out lest it spills over to other places.Mugiwara Franky 01:17, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

What the heck has Mugiwara Franky to do with this and why bump someone who is currently active to another wikia for something like this? That reminds me of a case a couple years ago that someone started sending messages randomly to editors that had long before left the wikia and ended up annoying a bunch of people. If Imhungry4444 wants to properly argue his case, he should make a proper section in his talk page titled accordingly, where he will explain his reasons and arguments! Writing randomly and erasing afterwards is no reason for people to take what you write seriously or expect people to do so. MasterDeva 01:49, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

lets not have this happen again[edit source]

next time can you contact me or warn me when im doing something stupid. 90% of the time ill stop. the other 10% is when i dont have any more shits to give XD. nah but seriously, if you woulda warned me first i woulda stopped. thanks for unbanning me. Troll King Imhungry4444 15:29, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

Talk back[edit source]

I'll correct the Talkback template, give me some time. leviathan_89 22:24, 28 November, 2011 (UTC)

Now it should be done: Talkback. If you want you can add a line like this

<charinsert> </charinsert>

to MediaWiki:Edittools (copy the code from the editor, because there are some nowiki tags that are not shown). It should add the template with your username and timestamp automatically. leviathan_89 23:07, 28 November, 2011 (UTC)

Upload text issue[edit source]

Am I wrong or did you say that you too don't see MediaWiki:Uploadtext in Special:Upload? I have contacted the staff, so I tell them that you too have the same issue. leviathan_89 18:35, 30 November, 2011 (UTC)

I can only see the Guidelines Warning in Special:Upload when the English language is selected. For the other languages I don't see anything or there is an other text displaying something different. For example, the German version looks like this. You can test this yourself by appending ?uselang= to the URL and adding at then end the languade code of the version you want to ckeck. MasterDeva 19:59, November 30, 2011 (UTC)
It's probably a language interface issue, I have reported it to the staff. leviathan_89 21:05, 30 November, 2011 (UTC)
The staff will look at the problem, hopefully they will solve the issue in some days. leviathan_89 00:55, 2 December, 2011 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. MasterDeva 01:03, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

Featured Article template[edit source]

Did you alter the Template:Random Featured Article to have it go into random pages automatically every time the page is changed/refreshed? If so, why? Yata Talk to me 06:45, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

Yes I did, they are not random though. All of them are featured articles like we had before and are displayed in priority order. We can show more of our content the main page, without having to manually change it every time. We can also add more featured articles to display and we won't have to worry about remembering to change it. By the way, I took the code from our sister site. MasterDeva 14:21, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

If it isn't random then why does it say "Random Featured Article" on the template? SeaTerror 17:13, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah I allow me to correct myself, they're not 'completely' random. MasterDeva 17:32, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. A new change in our style of featuring articles. Yata Talk to me 23:33, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

I saw the changes on the Featured Article template too, and I think it's a good change, since I always forget to change it and nobody was really willing to do it anyway. Still, I find some problems about the new feature.

For example, last time I checked, the article was on Akainu, and somehow the image next to it was a deleted file and there was nothing showing in the image box except for a redlink that said "150px". Any way to fix that?

Next, when the article for Garp appeared in the template, what showed up (in the temp. only) is the old information that has changed over the two year timeskip, which makes it false information (such as Garp is a vice admiral, etc).

Also, sometimes the template shows extremely short articles such as Boo Kong, and the words in the box template and the article itself only have a sentence worth difference in these cases, which is a bit pointless. I know they are previous FAs but this is a bit strange to me.

Finally, now that the FAs are random, I don't know what we should do about the template above each article that was previously featured. Maybe we could ask PX-bot to remove all of them? In any case, I feel this requires a bit more discussion. JapaneseOPfan :: Talk 16:26, December 11, 2011 (UTC)

You can edit the template itself to update old information or add new one. The template is open for everyone to edit, I don't see why you should stop editing it now. I've put a new image for Akainu to replace the deleted one, so feel free to check the rest of the articles yourself. As for the old tags in the articles themselves, we should keep them to show which pages were featured in the main page. MasterDeva 19:13, December 11, 2011 (UTC)

Oh you can edit the template?! I didn't know, thanks for telling me. Alright sounds good. JapaneseOPfan :: Talk 21:57, December 11, 2011 (UTC)

Hocho Sabaki[edit source]

About that page, don't you think it's a little too situational to be considered a fighting style of its own page? I mean, Sanji only performed one technique, once in the series. Very situational. This is different from Merman Combat and Ningyo Gujutsu, as there are at least more than one user, or more than one technique. Should we delete/merge Hocho Sabaki? Yata Talk to me 12:00, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

It should be merged with Sanji's abilities, he was the first and only character to display use of it after all. MasterDeva 12:28, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

Marine Rank Forum[edit source]

I don't think anyone noticed the new forum I've posted. Please participate, as well as try to invite some other people. Thanks, I'd appreciate it. Yata Talk to me 02:19, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

I'll keep it in mind for now. I don't have an opinion to offer yet, so I'll wait for more people to give theirs and comment later on. MasterDeva 11:54, December 13, 2011 (UTC)

Happy New Year: 2012[edit source]

Another year has come to pass. Happy new year to all the editors here in One Piece Wikia, be it old, new, regulars, semi-active and to those who are not with us any longer. ^_^ MasterDeva 23:06, December 31, 2011 (UTC)

Letting you know[edit source]

Hi there, we recently came to a decision at the One Piece Wiki, that all of the inactive admins need to become active on One Piece Wiki, before 30 October 2012, else they will be stripped of their extra rights. If you do not want to become active on the wiki again, then please let us know, or don't reply to us. Thanks.  Jademing  Talk   20:52, October 16, 2012 (UTC)

Hi I am a user of One Piece Wikia and I would like you to keep your admin position .I think you can still keep your position . If possible can you please please keep your admin rughts and fulfill your duties as an admin . thanks /(*^_^*)V . From ~ a user of One Piece Wikia ( ps I am writting this as an AWC because I dont want to reveal my identity )

Although I was semi-active in the past I did keep an eye on the One Piece Wikia daily, I don't think it would be easy for me to stop supporting the wiki after I invested so much effort in here. At the very least it is not my intention. ;) MasterDeva (talk) 11:10, October 21, 2012 (UTC)

Does this mean you will continue being and admin right\(^ ^)/
Yes. MasterDeva (talk) 18:13, October 21, 2012 (UTC)

Firstly MasterDeva, if you want to remain as an administrator here it would be wise to respond to the above message from Jade and not just expect us to take your reply to an anonymous supporter as an indication of your stay. Second, with said reply please either message Jade on her own talk page or the forum itself as it helps resolve the whole issue quicker. Thirdly, I will respond on Jade's behalf due to real world commitments keeping her preoccupied and say that simply "keeping an eye" on the Wikia is not a satisfactory level of work coming from an administrator, as any user can do this. We have several rollbackers now for that exact reason.

If you wish to keep your position, prove to us that you're willing to return as an administrator once more and start actively contributing again.   Kuro      Ashi   12:14, October 22, 2012 (UTC)

I'll write a response in the forum to inform people appropriately, thanks for the notice. MasterDeva (talk) 19:43, October 22, 2012 (UTC)

I apologize for not being clear on the terms of being active before, in my first notification. As Kuro stated, merely logging in the wikia and looking over it is not enough of what people expect an admin to do. Any regular editor and rollbacks can do that. We need admins to edit the wiki, delete improper files and pages, ban vandals and these who are decided to be banned on forums, in other words, doing admin duties. You are not doing that, and therefore, considered unsuitable to keep the position, as of now.

If you want to remain an admin, then notify us, either on on this forum or on my talk page and start doing the level of works you are expected to do as an admin. Thank you.  Jademing  Talk   20:02, October 22, 2012 (UTC)

I only mentioned that because people automatically assumed that "inactive" Administrators are completely detached from the OP Wiki; which, at the very least, is not the case for me. I know the difference between Administrators, Rollback and normal users though, so I don't see the reason to explain that... It would be nice however if you actively asked me to participate in things in particular instead of ignoring me. If you want to e.g. discuss over something user or wiki related in the forums that requires a solution, it wouldn't hurt to ask me. Just my two cents. MasterDeva (talk) 20:25, October 22, 2012 (UTC)

Rich Text Editor[edit source]

Hey Deva, I saw your post here regarding the rich text problems we've been having the last few days. Do you think you could message staff and have them disable in the way you described? It's really been a headache for editors who've been trying to remove it. And it's also made finding what's changed when people small edits. We may also need to have a bot go around and correct all the stuff that's been changed. Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 16:59, November 2, 2012 (UTC)

We could always use PX-Bot for anything bot related, sff9 is the one you should refer to for that. As for the Rich Text Editor it would be advisable to have an official voting about disabling it before contacting the Wikia staff. MasterDeva (talk) 15:51, November 3, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, that sounds fine. I guess we should make a forum and see if anyone actually wants to keep the rich text editor. In the meantime, do you think you could write up an easy to understand post for the community messages or somewhere else about what it is and how to turn off/stop it? Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 22:33, November 3, 2012 (UTC)

Done. MasterDeva (talk) 17:51, November 5, 2012 (UTC)

Renaming & Broken Links[edit source]

Hi Deva, thanks for renaming all those images and also adding the proper file names to the pages. However, I've noticed that the wiki has been glitching on the pages and adding them into Category:Pages with broken file links even though there are no broken links. The way to correct this seems to be just editing the pages and making no changes and publishing them. I'm gonna try and do it for all the pages with things you've already renamed, but watch out for this in the future. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 02:44, November 8, 2012 (UTC)

Could you explain this in a different way? I'm not sure how you replicated the problem and what was causing it in the first place. MasterDeva (talk) 09:32, November 8, 2012 (UTC)
I'm not entirely sure what causes it either, it's just a weird wiki glitch. But apparently sometimes when you go in and change the name of a file, sometimes the page is mistakenly added to Category:Pages with broken file links when there are no broken links. The category is not shown on the page you edited either, only in the page for the category. The way to fix this seems to be "refreshing" the page by publishing an edit where you make no changes. That seems to fix for some mysterious reason... Is that a better explanation? JustSomeDude...  Talk | 05:20, November 9, 2012 (UTC)
Yes I now understand what you meant, thanks for your help. MasterDeva (talk) 13:25, November 9, 2012 (UTC)
I figured out the problem. In rare cases where the filename changes in the related articles first (creating broken links) and the actual file is renamed afterwards, the system add the articles in the broken file links category but does not check them again until the next revision or the method your described above. MasterDeva (talk) 22:02, November 13, 2012 (UTC)
How odd. Well, in Forum:Broken Links on User, Talk, and Forum Pages Sff9 & I describe a method that could replace all the broken links in Category:Pages with broken file links which could actually make that category a much easier way to check if there are any problems that occur with picture renaming. Your input on that forum would be appreciated. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 18:31, November 14, 2012 (UTC)

Image Renaming[edit source]

Don't worry about image renaming for now. I've talked with User:Sff9 who believes that a bot can go through and change all the images. So you can save yourself the trouble of changing them all by hand. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 20:51, November 13, 2012 (UTC)

It is not that simple, unfortunately... As you may have noticed with Banchi using a bot to handle the new names may not be the best option. MasterDeva (talk) 21:05, November 13, 2012 (UTC)
Another problem I encountered, was with changing File:BrenheimKörper.jpg to File:Brenheim.jpg which the later is a deleted file of its own which prevented me from moving it. In the end I was forced renamed the former to File:Blenheim Infobox.jpg to get around it. Apparently it is a delicate process that requires a real person doing the changes since "the Human Factor" is so closely involved. MasterDeva (talk) 01:40, November 15, 2012 (UTC)

And I dont understand the please bla bla bla using four tildes (HazimRS (talk) 16:07, November 30, 2012 (UTC)) , what does that mean?

Hello HazimRS and welcome to the One Piece Wikia. In order to let people know that it was that wrote something, you should always sign your comments at the end with ~~~~, that allows them to properly respond and address you. It is also considered good manners. Please note that if you want to make changes to an article that is locked you should direct it to the talk page of the article in question. Regarding what you asked me in my talk page about the SAD tank issue in Law's page, I'm not so sure sure that the tank was destroyed yet. Law's Ope Ope no Mi allows him to cut apart human beings and put them back together without harming them, as was the case with Kinemon. It is yet too soon to say that the tank was destroyed, which I believe will be resolved in the chapter. MasterDeva (talk) 18:19, November 30, 2012 (UTC)

Whitebeard's Profile Image[edit source]

Please, I am trying to be reasonable with you. I know you like yours more because you picked it and want yours to stay up. But the one I have is better for the page because it shows the whole body, and is in a non obstructed angle.

Genocyber (talk) 06:08, December 13, 2012 (UTC)

I have no particular attachment to that image so don't automatically assume things and then force them one me as facts. Image issues should be discussed in their own talk pages so do that there and NOT here please.
PS: I expected that you have learned by now to you use the 'new section' button or know how to add a new section in a talk page. Making me do it for you is tiresome... MasterDeva (talk) 06:13, December 13, 2012 (UTC)

Scientists Template[edit source]

I'm making a scientists template to go with the new page if your wondering.

Youtube Player[edit source]

Hey Deva, I am asking you and all the other active administrators if you would be supportive of a YoutubePlayer template on this wiki. Basically, this allows users to play music or videos from their profile automatically (it will not be used on articles, obviously). Any opinions? -- Coffee Shop Corporate Raider  Click me  05:15, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

I'm against it. If users want to play AMV they should go directly to YouTube and not have a template especially made for something that won't even be used for the actual articles in the One Piece Encyclopedia. MasterDeva (talk) 07:24, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

Modifying Explode Code[edit source]

There's no need to modify that. It was used for all the chapters, and it doesn't matter because it links it already. Also, in the one I just fixed, you red linked it, so could you check if you did that for the other ones?   Galaxy 9000   06:57, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

The chapters are not ordered properly in the Category:Chapter Cover Images and that annoys me since I make use of it. Three digit numbers are ordered properly but not the two digit ones and under. As for the code used in the source code, it's just excess characters. I'll check again my edits to remove anything causing red linking. Thanks for the letting me know Galaxy9000 and have a nice day. MasterDeva (talk) 07:07, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

Alright. The cause is that you're putting 011, 012, etc. Those redirects don't exist anymore.. so red links. No problem, and have a nice day as well.   Galaxy 9000

This is unrelated to redirects Gal.
@MasterDeva, consider using instead of hardwiring the numbers. ( would be even better, if you're willing to modify those you've already done.) sff9 07:50, February 5, 2013

I've been doing that already for the three digit numbers but there is an issue with the code left behind for chapters with two digits and under. Well the code was written by someone else and maybe he made a mistake writing it. I understand how it works so I'll give it a try and if there is no issue I'll check back on all the other chapters I edited. Thank sff9. MasterDeva (talk) 09:43, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, you're right, a better code would be .
By the way, I don't think you should add both Category:Cover Story Images and Category:Chapter Cover Images, since the former is contained in the latter. If you think a list of all chapter covers is useful, there is another way to get it, using the DPL extension. sff9 10:04, February 5, 2013

I want the Category:Chapter Cover Images to display all the chapter images except for the colour pages. In other words every page that the chapter number and title are visible. Merely containing the category is of little use to me. Besides adding another category, what other alternatives are there? MasterDeva (talk) 11:46, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

On my wiki I made this template to solve the order problem. It basically list pages of the type "NAME #" with a four digit numbers. No need to edit the category sortkey. Also there is no point in using 3-digits sortkeys since One Piece will have 1000+ chapters (hence you will have the same problem when we will reach chapter 1000). leviathan_89 11:54, 5 February, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, some times I forget that this is Oda we're dealing with. It would be naive to think that One Piece won't reach the one thousand chapters mark. Would you be interested in adding the aforementioned template to our wiki Leviathan_89? I would like to do some testing with it. MasterDeva (talk) 12:35, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

Here: Sort. Check my English though. As you can see here it works nice on my wiki. leviathan_89 14:06, 5 February, 2013 (UTC)

@MasterDeva: see here for an alternative (the page may be long to load). It's of course possible to split results, and do all sorts of tweaks. The sorting is wrong, but it is probably because of the sortkey mess.
You can use the following code on one of your user subpages to get the result:

  category = *Chapter Cover Images
  notcategory = Color Spreads
  format    = <gallery>,%PAGE%|%TITLE%\n,,</gallery>
  ordermethod = sortkey

I think this solution is cleaner to the wiki. sff9 21:54, February 5, 2013

Interesting. I can see the usefulness of it but the method Leviathan_89 provided seems closer to what I need. Plus the purpose is for everyone to have a proper access to the category pages and not use a user sandbox... :P That's as squeaky clean as it gets. I'll start testing to see the results. Thank you both for the help and support you provided. MasterDeva (talk) 07:15, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

Note that Levi's code for sortkeys is necessary anyway. My point was that tagging with both categories is redundant, so it should be avoided. But of course, if you think it's important to have a list of all chapter covers in the actual wiki, we can make a page for it, for example :Category:Chapter Cover Images/List or something. (I personally didn't deem it necessary, that's why I proposed the use of a sandbox.)
To sum up, I'm only asking whether the layout I proposed fit your needs. If yes, I'll take care of the categories and stuff when I got time. sff9 16:12, February 6, 2013

Yeah, I thought of what you said above. What you proposed though doesn't particularly help me so I don't think it would be much of a use. If there is something that you haven't mentioned already, about why you think that multiple category tagging is redundant, I would like to hear it. MasterDeva (talk) 16:27, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

Well, if a file is in Category:Cover Story Images, it is automatically in Category:Chapter Cover Images by inclusion. That's the purpose of the category hierarchy—just like we don't put Luffy in Category:Characters, since it's implied by other categories he belongs to. The basic MediaWiki software is flawed though, as it does not allow one to automatically get a list of all characters. But using DPL, this drawback disappears, actually making double tagging redundant.
On top of that, in the particular case of Category:Chapter Cover Images, it's even worse because it's inconsistent: why would it directly include the content of all its subcategories, except one?
Now, if what I proposed does not help you, then it's a problem. What is it exactly that you need, that is offered by the use of a redundant category, but not by the code I proposed? sff9 16:48, February 6, 2013

I understand that the MediaWiki software is flawed, be it by design or bugs, but we shouldn't worry about redundant category until the Wikia staff actually fixes the issue. Knowing them of course it could take forever... but that's another story. The Category:Color Spreads is a mixed bag itself and the majority of its content comes from Color Walk (for quality purposes) and other sources but not the actual covers. That's why it doesn't fit into Category:Chapter Cover Images. Creating a new page every time we want a workaround for MediaWiki category problems seems redundant. Clicking on the category itself and displaying (also) the missing content from the subcategories is the ideal function. MasterDeva (talk) 17:26, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
The Wikia staff won't fix it (unless they decide to develop their own alternative to MediaWiki, which I doubt), but the DPL extension is there to repair the design flaws of MediaWiki, so that's not a problem. A clean category hierarchy is more important to me than having a few more pages; it is not really redundant either, a category and a list are not the same thing. But as Levi said below, we can even put the list on the actual category page anyway.
About Category:Color Spreads: if you think its content doesn't fit into Category:Chapter Cover Images, then it shouldn't be a subcategory. But I don't really agree, source doesn't matter, they are still chapter covers. sff9 17:53, February 6, 2013
If the issue can be solved on the category page itself, without involving additional pages, and the missing covers are included in the counter I'm up for it. The colour spreads are more of their own category than a subcategory of Category:Chapter Cover Images, more closely related to :Category:Cover Images, so I'm considering removing them from the former. MasterDeva (talk) 18:05, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

If I may add, the DPL gallery can be added to the category page, like :Category:Cover Images so that you will achieve the same visual effect of adding that category to each covers, without using redundant categories. leviathan_89 17:10, 6 February, 2013 (UTC)

Would that allow the category page to retain the same functionality as before and only add the missing covers? MasterDeva (talk) 17:28, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

RE: Image Source Format[edit source]

What do you mean? I always use the same format. Sewil 6:55, February 7 - 2013

The source format we use is this:

* From Episode #.

* From Chapter #.
Where the source on top is the for the image currently in use. The asterisk can be omitted if there is only one source. MasterDeva (talk) 07:02, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Using the numbers is better than the bullet list. Makes things less ambiguous.

  Galaxy 9000   07:05, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

That is not an official rule and has never been posted anywhere. I, and many others, use

#First image revision source (Number 1)
#Second image revision source (Number 2)
#Third image revision source (Number 3)

which makes it much easier to differentiate the revisions. Sewil 7:06, February 7 - 2013

Nah, if you really want to differentiate between versions mention the source in the description of each version instead. When people start reverting and whatnot the the numbers list becomes confusing. MasterDeva (talk) 07:08, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

No because you take it from the bottom, the revisions are still there even though people are reverting, it doesn't matter because it's consistent, therefore a number-list is easier to understand than a bullet-list. Sewil 7:12, February 7 - 2013

That would be the case if the revisions where numbered, but they are not. Besides people view the page form top to bottom, so it's important to place the source currently in use at the top. MasterDeva (talk) 07:15, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Unless you are 4 years old I guess you can count the revisions for yourself. No one knows whether you count the bullet-list from the top or bottom, hence it's confusing. I still place the source at the same location, but use a numbered list instead. Sewil 7:17, February 7 - 2013

The point is that when multiple revisions exist it becomes confusing. There is no reason to number them, just make sure they are listed. Plus the order of appearance is reversed. You place the source currently in use at the bottom, while it should go on the top. MasterDeva (talk) 07:22, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Please stop editing my posts.

The point is that it's not confusing at all, as I said, you count them from the bottom, and then the numbered list have the revision sources as they are counted in order of date, it's pretty simple. With the bullet-list, you don't know whether it follows the order of the revisions (bottom to top) or in the order you usually read a text (top to bottom). Sewil 7:28, February 7 - 2013

What you have in mind are images with a few sources, but when there are numerous revisions the numbered list becomes destracting. At least have the currently used source on top and and add the also to the revision description too instead of the source section alone. MasterDeva (talk) 07:38, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

How about we just put a numbered list and invert the order so that the latest become number 1 and the oldest becomes the last number? And if the revision is just a copy of another revision (someone has reverted or something else), it's not written down. Sewil 7:46, February 7 - 2013

What do you mean with the "not written down" part that you mention above? MasterDeva (talk) 07:49, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

That it isn't mentioned in the source because it's a copy of a previous revision. (For example, reversions) Sewil 7:51, February 7 - 2013

Also, another note, there's no need to add the "from" part, since it's under the headline "Source" which kind of indicates that it is from everything you mention below, it also looks kind of repetitive when you repeat the word "from", when it isn't needed in the first place. Sewil 7:58, February 7 - 2013

Leaving it plain (episode #) or (chapter #) is not so easy on the eye. Having a sentence structured form is more desirable. The point is that when you have two similar sources e.g. "* From Episode 222." and right below "* From Episode 223." the only difference between them is the episode number and everything else looks the same. MasterDeva (talk) 08:12, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

You're renaming the images on user pages too, correct? If you don't, we'll end up with more things in Category:Pages with broken file links which is not something we need right now. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 16:55, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

User pages are maintained by the their corresponding user. I won't edit any of their pages. MasterDeva (talk) 17:00, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

In Forum:Broken Links on User, Talk, and Forum Pages it was decided that users can edit the pages and posts of other users in cases where it affects the wiki's formatting and functioning. In fact, I view not correcting the links as creating problems that I will end up having to resolve later, which is not something I want to do. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 17:12, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

I was not referring to the aforementioned decision above of whether I can or not. User pages and etc are something I won't edit. If you're not up for it you can put someone else on that task. MasterDeva (talk) 17:17, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Well, forgive me for my language, but that seems kind of half-assed. You are breaking the links, but you won't fix them? To me that seems like you aren't truly renaming the images. Ideally, I'd like to be able to use Category:Pages with broken file links to monitor actual articles that get broken links due to the jpg replacement and image renaming projects, but that becomes difficult when the category is filled with user pages. And I don't want to "put someone else on that task" because that just seems like I'm asking someone else to do my job, kind of what I think you're doing now. In addition, it is very difficult to find all these pages where the links are broken because you're deleting the pages for the original image. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 17:29, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

If you don't want to do it fine, if you don't want to ask someone else that's also fine. Ideally some user will offer to do it himself without having to ask in the first place. Monitoring the actual wiki articles and ignoring user related pages at the same time is possible. To me it seems that offering their help to the wiki is something people should be glad to do. Unless they aren't truly helping the wiki. These are my thoughts on the subject and that's all there is to it. MasterDeva (talk) 17:47, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

So you understand that by not replacing them on user pages you're making more problems than you're correcting, right? It's not easy to fix these images, especially when the show up weeks later in the category and nobody knows what the old picture even looked like, let alone the new file name. The best to fix these links is before they're ever even broken. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 18:23, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Neither is easy fixing mwstore errors from files people broke by edit warring but in the end I had to and I did. Locating the culprit file and isolating it is problematic for me too and most people will never know because it is something done under the hood. Concerning the above you mentioned, If images turn up weeks later in the category and help is needed I will do so. All you have to do is leave me a message telling me so. MasterDeva (talk) 18:54, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

That's how it's gonna work for every image. It would be best for all of us if the broken links were dealt with now, before they become a problem, as I've been saying. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 19:20, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

You do realize you should be changing the images on the templates too right? There's no reason to leave a redirect. We wouldn't be doing this if we wanted them.   Galaxy 9000   22:05, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

I leave the templates last for after I have finished remaining the files. Isn't it obvious? The redirects are for the user related pages. MasterDeva (talk) 22:07, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Doesn't matter. Don't leave the redirects. We're trying to fix all instances of incorrect file names. The redirects are just extra stuff we don't need.   Galaxy 9000   22:12, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Not all redirects are unnecessary that a misconception. As I said already the redirects are for user related content, actual file names and articles using are properly replaced. MasterDeva (talk) 22:15, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I know you said that already. We're still trying to make sure the file names are consistent on all pages, even user pages. The user page links will get fixed eventually, so please just don't leave the redirects from now on.   Galaxy 9000   22:17, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Another edit conflict... Please keep in mind that all the mwstore errors I encountered were from your reverts and it took considerable effort to fix them. Next time an image related conflict appears take it straight to the appropriate talk page. Regarding the redirects, I am living them only on user related pages and there is no problem with that. MasterDeva (talk) 22:23, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

You're not getting my point. Redirects should NOT be existing at all, so refrain from leaving them.   Galaxy 9000   22:25, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Nobody cares. Just do your job and fix the stuff you break. Quit being lazy and coming up with excuses. SeaTerror (talk) 22:26, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Ignoring SeaTerror's troll comment and responding to Galaxy9000. I get your point and you don't seem to understand though that you making a mistake. Redirects are NOT useless. Using them for user related pages is fine since they are not actual articles of this wiki. If you are so intend on deleting them, fine by me, however you'll have to edit all the bloat on those user pages without my help and that's my final word on this. MasterDeva (talk) 22:31, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

So you ignore the truth and are purposely leaving things you break for other people to fix. You definitely deserve a demotion. SeaTerror (talk) 22:48, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

What truth all you do right now is trying to steer up conflict! As I've after the discussion with JustSomeDude I'm using redirects so no redlinking which equals to nothing broken. There are a few redlinks remaining from some the initial edits but I'll fix them as they come. MasterDeva (talk) 22:52, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

We are talking about the links on user pages which you said you refuse to fix. SeaTerror (talk)

I said that I refuse to edit them while I'm renaming the files hence the redirects I never said that I won't fix them. As I've said already on my response to JustSomeDude if weird links start popping up in the category list I'll help dealing with them. All he has to do is leave a message on my talk page. MasterDeva (talk) 22:58, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

"however you'll have to edit all the bloat on those user pages without my help and that's my final word on this." Nice try. SeaTerror (talk) 23:00, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Seriously SeaTerror, I kindly ask you to shut up please. As I've said to JustSomeDude "...If images turn up weeks later in the category and help is needed I will do so. All you have to do is leave me a message telling me so." which is it. The quoted part you mention above was referring to the redirects left for the user pages which are NOT redlinks. Using redirects is a legit way of dealing with all that bloat, if Galaxy9000 does not like them and feels forced to remove them it is not a wiki issue. MasterDeva (talk) 23:06, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

How do you ask somebody to kindly shut up? The links left over on user pages are usually jpg images that got converted to png which means, yes, they are getting redlinked. SeaTerror (talk) 00:24, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

If you can't follow the discussion SeaTerror don't participate in it. What I was talking with JustSomeDude was .png files tagged with the Rename that I changed their name. This has nothing to do with .jpg, as I deleted a couple of them 500+ edits after the above discussion was finished. As a matter of fact but of course .jpg links have to be fixed with the Redlink template since there is no way around it but that's NOT what were discussing previously! I have no problem with using the redlink template on .jpg files. What I have an issue with are the 12+ oldname.png files on several user pages can be dealt with easily through redirect links. MasterDeva (talk) 00:38, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

You already said you refused to edit user pages. You have not shown that you would replace redlinked images if you broke them on user pages. SeaTerror (talk) 00:42, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

As I've said before if you can't follow the discussion don't take part in it. Talking with you is as fruitful as talking to a brick wall and since a wise man once said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." I won't bother responding to you any more, unless you stop running around in circles and start having a constructive conversation with me, or for that matter with everyone in general. If you continue at this pace I'll consider the subsequent edits as spam and deal with them appropriately. MasterDeva (talk) 01:05, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Ignoring most of the stuff above, I don't have a problem with leaving file redirects for the user pages. In fact that was something proposed by Levi in the broken links forum, but it never really got discussed. But it must be used for user pages only, anything like articles, talks, templates, and forums can't use redirects, as that violates our rule against using redirects. As long as the image won't make a broken file link, I don't care. Though I do think it's a bit unnecessary to leave a file redirect for only one link from a user page, and that you should just make the effort to change it. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 02:45, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Well either we'll be using them or not we won't. I know that encyclopaedic articles are off hands from using redirect and I purposely refrained from doing it. Just so we are clear, User Pages and Blogs are allowed to use redirecting on them right? MasterDeva (talk) 02:54, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, user pages and blogs can use file redirects. Templates must use the new image name. But I think if it's only one thing linked, we can't really justify having the page for the redirect. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 02:59, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

User Pages and Blogs are okay for redirect linking, everything else will be done manually. Okay got it, thanks for the heads up JustSomeDude. MasterDeva (talk) 03:07, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, a few more things:

1) There are more things in Category:Pages with broken file links as a result of your renaming.

2) redlink is supposed to be used for text/article links only, not for image links. For images, NoPic should be used.

Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 16:27, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Damn, I knew that this template existed but I had forgotten its name. I'll take care of the broken links, thanks for bringing it to my attention. Also, I forgot you ask you before. How should archived forum discussions be handled? To my opinion I don't think editing the links is the right course of action. If the counter meter resets every time a new edit is made, doesn't it make it redundant? I believe that for archived forum discussions, concerning always renamed .png files, we should actively use redirects. MasterDeva (talk) 18:04, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Re:.PNG[edit source]

All my images are .png...

  Galaxy 9000   23:36, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Oh yes my mistake. I saw that you edited some .PNG and somehow I thought that you uploaded them. Sorry about that, I'm a little tired and I got distracted. Again sorry for the unnecessary trouble. MasterDeva (talk) 23:43, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Some stuff[edit source]

Yo Deva, WU here!

I just wanted to say that I apologize for "jumping on the bandwagon", if that's what you said, cause that was not what I intended to do in the least. I also wanted to say that you're doing a great job with the broken images/files, so keep it up! So that was mostly it, expect that I really recommend you to get someone to archive your talk page, that way, the old messages won't fill up space, and it will be much easier for you to find your new messages. Hope you have a still great day, WU out - ☆ Wonder-kun ☆ (◣ ◢) 06:47, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Well I've thought of archiving it myself at some point, though some people find it convenient for them, I prefer to have all messages in a single page to keep track of things. It's not inconvenient to me in any way and I prefer it as such. The only disadvantage I could think of, would be a slight slower load time for people with dial up connection but then again my talk page is not that big in size and doesn't contain any images to impact rendering. I'm planning on starting using archives though once my talk page reaches 1MB in size. As for apologising, it's not really necessary. You were one of the most cool headed people in the discussion, so it's okay. Have a nice day too mate. MasterDeva (talk) 12:15, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Okay then mate, see ya later! WU out - ☆ Wonder-kun ☆ (◣ ◢) 20:21, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Ban Request[edit source]

Can you please ban User: as they are currently vandalizing several pages? Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 18:14, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Kuro Image[edit source]

When there are edit wars, we keep the images as the default. The Kuro image has been the Episode of Nami image for quite some time, and is therefore the default. Unless the talk page proves otherwise later, please revert File:Luffy_Defeats_Kuro.png back to the default. It's how we do edit wars around here after all.   Galaxy 9000   20:06, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

Constant reverts can create errors because duplicates are not archived properly lately. Hence the reason I re-uploaded the image instead of simply reverting. Right now I'm hesitant to revert anything because of swg errors in the archive. Due to technical issues, the next time an edit war happens make sure to ask for the immediate protection of the file to prevent such errors. Since these errors become noticeable only when moving files, I haven't been able to detect them beforehand, which is a serious problem. Make mention of the default version in the talk page for reference's sake and keep image reverts to the bare minimum. MasterDeva (talk) 00:27, March 23, 2013 (UTC)

I tried to keep them to a minimum, but User:Staw-Hat Luffy continued to revert, even when i told him our policy.   Galaxy 9000   00:30, March 23, 2013 (UTC)

Poll Rules Bump[edit source]

Renaming Portraits[edit source]

Hi,when you rename an image, can you make sure to rename it on the featured articles template too?  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  16:55, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Unless I somehow missed any, which I doubt, they don't seem to link to the template. When I notice a missing image, I edit it manually. Thanks for the notice though, I'll keep it in mind. MasterDeva (talk) 20:15, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Well I found some and i saw that you had renamed them so I thought I should let you know in case you had forgotten. No big deal.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  20:51, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry to butt in, but it appears that it never says when images are linked in the FA template for some reason. And it's only added to the Broken File links page when the article with the broken link shows up randomly. I don't know of any way to easily fix the pictures at all, and this has been bothering me for awhile. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 20:57, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

As of this moment I have no way to fix for this. I'll try to think of some alternatives until we've got a solution. MasterDeva (talk) 21:03, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Let me suggest something:If you rename an image of a featured article-character,check if that image is used in the main page too.I know it will be a pain but this is the best solution i can think. Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  21:21, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

I've just noticed that the images now link back properly to the template. MasterDeva (talk) 01:56, May 18, 2013 (UTC)

Marked for Deletion[edit source]

Besides the color templates, did the other templates, categories, and photos that I marked for deletion correct? Lelouch Di Britannia Talk Page  10:29, April 23, 2013 (UTC)

Even though we removed the mark for deletion template from the templates that I marked, there are still pages in the category:candidates for deletion. Lelouch Di Britannia Talk Page  10:49, April 23, 2013 (UTC)
I was just wondering, how do you purge them? Lelouch Di Britannia Talk Page  10:55, April 23, 2013 (UTC)
I think there are four more templates marked for deletion, could you check them? Lelouch Di Britannia Talk Page  10:58, April 23, 2013 (UTC)
We no longer need Category:Duplicate Files. I recently created One Piece Wiki:Duplicate Images which the majority of the community agreed with. For more information about it, you can check it out here: Forum:Duplicate Image List Lelouch Di Britannia Talk Page  11:10, April 23, 2013 (UTC)

Char box[edit source]

So in this wiki there should be a space between the char box and paragraphs? Lelouch Di Britannia Talk Page  10:43, May 3, 2013 (UTC)

There used to be an issue with some of the boxes, where a design flaw caused them to appear lower if a space was added below them. From what I can remember this has been fixed so it is no longer an issue. I would advise to add a space when it is missing, but, do not just edit articles for the sake of that only. MasterDeva (talk) 10:50, May 3, 2013 (UTC)

That was what I thought as well, but some of the users told me that was the wrong format. As a result of that, whenever I saw an article with a space between the infobox and pragraph, I removed it. Ugh! Lelouch Di Britannia Talk Page  10:53, May 3, 2013 (UTC)

Actually, is there a way to add this category somewhere on the community messages so that you don't have to update them every time a new poll is opened (cause polls keep showing up lately and it will be a pain to ask an admin every single time to update them)  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  20:07, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

The Text On Naviboxes[edit source]

Hi Deva, I've noticed that most of the Naviboxes have a line written bellow them that says This is a navibox about XXX group. To use add XXX Navibox at the bottom of the page. Is that text really needed? I believe it's quite obvious where the naviboxes should be placed and even if somebody doesn't know where to put them he won't edit a navibox anyway. So can I have permission to remove those texts from the templates?  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  09:49, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Nope, leave them be. That line displays how to properly use the templates and it should not be removed from any of them. MasterDeva (talk) 09:53, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
Sure, they're harmless after all.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  09:55, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Colored Chapter Covers[edit source]

They're not colored any differently than any of the other chapter covers, which should be evident from the chapter 45 cover. I was simply giving the source they came from. Not sure why the color version of chapter 22 is fine at File:Chapter 22.png if what I uploaded isn't? Is it because the chapter title is removed? But that's cool, man. I won't contribute any more covers or cover images from these releases. XScar (talk) 13:55, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

It looks like there has been a misunderstanding. You can continue uploading the digital versions, as separate files though, and let us sort them out afterwards. There is no need to stop uploading them all together. MasterDeva (talk) 15:14, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you in advance.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  14:42, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

The answer is simple, start a poll in each talk page. The results of the poll will decide which image will be used for each file. Until that is settled leave the default version. MasterDeva (talk) 14:59, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Can you lock and revert the Caesar image? They're warring and not keeping it on the original (manga)   Galaxy 9000   15:14, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Done. Here and here.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  15:20, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Colored Manga Images[edit source]

The first poll was canceled because the issue was not properly discussed and now a new poll has opened so please vote again.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  11:37, May 29, 2013 (UTC)

Negikuma Maria Picture[edit source]

The poll decided, can you revert to the movie image please?  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  23:29, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

Renaming jpgs[edit source]

Hey Deva, there's no need to rename any jpg images, as they should be re-uploaded as png files, and they'll get their new names then. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 21:23, June 3, 2013 (UTC)

I realised that before renaming them, the thing is that depending on who renames them there might be issues with their new name. I figured that if there is a chance I can can help with that I will. Thanks for telling me though. MasterDeva (talk) 21:39, June 3, 2013 (UTC)

Poll Extensions[edit source]

Yo Deva. This poll has already been extended four times and it's still a tie, so it's getting really annoying. Do you think I should do something about it?

P.s Your talk page is way too big O_o  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  19:03, June 14, 2013 (UTC)

Getting extended four times in a row is an issue indeed. At this rate there won't be an end to it, I am in a dilemma actually... I'm thinking of breaking the tie and voting for yes. The problem I have with this though, is that I do not have the digitally coloured volumes available. I feel uncomfortable being unable to personally validate things before using them. Hence the reason I voted for no. This isn't an issue whether or no they were drawn by Oda. What I am concerned about, is confirmation that the images uploaded are indeed from the digitally coloured volumes.
P.S. My talk page is the talk page that will pierce the heavens! :P MasterDeva (talk) 00:08, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

Maria[edit source]

The poll for this ended ages ago, but anyways, the movie version won, so can you revert it back and unlock?   Galaxy 9000   05:25, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

It slipped out of my mind, thanks for reminding me mate. MasterDeva (talk) 14:22, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Kin'emon Image[edit source]

Well, the poll decided to use the image where he's crying ( _ _) so can you please revert and unlock it?  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  17:07, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

Sure. MasterDeva (talk) 17:56, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

Image Renaming Project[edit source]

Hello MasterDeva,

Since there are now a good number of us working on renaming images, I made a page for us to talk about how we can deal with working at the project together, since it's quickly becoming too much for each of us to manage on our own. Your communication on the page and your cooperation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 13:51, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

Permission To Do Stuff[edit source]

Hey Deva, I need to ask you some things. First, can I rename portraits too? There are more than 700 misnamed images in the category and many more still unmarked so i hope you won't mind if I rename some portraits. Second, JSD said that I have to get permission to delete fanart pics. So, do I have permission to delete fanart and pics marked for deletion if a real admin is not online? And finally, about the active discussion template, can I go edit it since the talk page decided that we're gonna use it in the talk pages?  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  15:53, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

I think that something like dealing with vandals is much more urgent than deleting images and more important too. If a guest/user begins to vandalise the wiki and an admin is absent, you have my permission to deal with it as dictated here. I've unlocked the active discussion template as per your request. You are free to edit it but please keep in mind that since it is still an open ended project, you should discuss any changes you do in talk page. You do not necessarily have to wait for the discussion to pick up in order to start.
I would advise you though that in case you find yourself in a edit war situation, refrain from reverting (even if you think you that the other person is wrong) and make active use of the talk page. That way you stop the edit war from progressing any further and prevent any forceful intervention by an admin. About the portraits, I would prefer if you left them to me for now. You could help instead with this which is in a category of its own. MasterDeva (talk) 17:46, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
Alright, thanks Deva. Well, I've quit edit warring because discussion is always better. About banning people, I really don't want to ban anyone so i hope that nobody will vandalize while I'm temp admin. And about the template, I'm not gonna change the design, just the categories and other stuff. Well, cya.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  19:47, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

Permission[edit source]

Hey MasterDeva, I wanted to ask for your permission to upload hybrid RAW/Scans (copy-paste RAW text on top of Scans). Nobody objected when I gave my idea to the [Scanlation Allowed Poll Thread], Yata and DP also supports my idea. I was told to ask what the other admins think and if they have any objections. The scanlation source I plan to use are very good quality with no smudging whatsoever. Thanks. ' 'inSaiyan Talk  Contribs  02:53, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

Woops, I screwed the code up. xD Edit: Okays fixed it' 'inSaiyan Talk  Contribs  02:56, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

Could you elaborate more on the scanlations you are planning to use? Also, please read this to get an idea of some issues with scanlations in general. We'll discuss the rest after I get more input from you on these matters. MasterDeva (talk) 10:25, July 10, 2013 (UTC)
If you're referring to the source, I plan to use scanlations from MangaRules. They're scans have the best quality and there are no watermarks. Their manga is hosted on Batoto.net. Example of hybrid: [1' 'inSaiyan Talk  Contribs  10:17, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Videos[edit source]

Hi MasterDeva, I recently updated my talk page, which featured a quick youtube embedded video that I've had on there for several months. After I watched it again today, it somehow was uploaded to the wiki, and I had to delete it. I made a minor edit about how I am on vacation, and the wiki automatically changed the code I had used to embed the video. This is the edit I made. Given this, and the several videos staff uploaded that can't be deleted, I think it would be best for us to contact staff about doing more to completely disable any video functions for our wiki. Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 15:14, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

I think that what you are referring to is disabling/removing the YouTube (Έκδοση 1.10) extension installed. There is also the Video embed tool extension that users can make use of through the Visual Editor. Is that right? MasterDeva (talk) 19:54, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

Hajrudin[edit source]

Since Hajrudin is locked, can you add this image to the appearance section, with the appropriate caption?   Galaxy 9000   13:06, July 13, 2013 (UTC)

Could you please provide the source you got it from for purposes of verification? MasterDeva (talk) 13:09, July 13, 2013 (UTC) MasterDeva (talk) 13:09, July 13, 2013 (UTC)
Jump started releasing their magazine online, and inside the July 13th issue was a digital colored version of Chapter 714. You can see it here. Xscar specifically bought it off of amazon, and provided the images to me in the chat. And the articles about these releases is here.   Galaxy 9000   13:14, July 13, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, done. MasterDeva (talk) 13:23, July 13, 2013 (UTC)

Unused Template Redirects[edit source]

Hello Deva, as you know, one of the reasons why I became temp admin is to delete template redirects left from pagemove. Well, as seen here, there are hundreds of unused template redirects that were intentionally created, which means that they were not left from pagemove. It has been bugging me for days. I am willing to delete all of them since they are just useless, but I don't know if I should, since they were probably created for a reason. But those redirects were created years ago, when the wiki's design was way different. What do you think? Should I delete them, or leave them?  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  12:43, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Hhm, I think it would be best if you leave them for now. I'll give them a look to make sure if they are really useless and why they were created in the first place. I'll inform you of my findings and we'll see afterwords how we should handle the situation. MasterDeva (talk) 12:52, July 15, 2013 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for the fast reply.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  12:55, July 15, 2013 (UTC)
Well, I guess we'll have to delete them.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  11:38, July 18, 2013 (UTC)
I haven't had a chance to look at them yet, I say wait until the weekend. MasterDeva (talk) 11:41, July 18, 2013 (UTC)
If my memory serves me right these templates were created by Tipota to be used for the anime episodes articles. The initiative as well implementation of this task can be attributed to him. As far as I can recall though there has been no discussion concerning the naming scheme of these templates. I believe it would be most reasonable to delete the English redirects first and then move the Japanese named templates to their place. If we move the templates without having deleted the redirects beforehand we risk loosing their history archive. In other words the history entries of the templates will override the history of the redirects. Such a large scale task however would be easier to assign to our bot instead of handling it by ourselves. MasterDeva (talk) 20:39, July 20, 2013 (UTC)
The bot cannot rename pages so we'll have to rename them manually and since those English redirects are not categorized or something so we'll have to do that manually too. Well, it will not take much time. I could do the job within a day.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  20:52, July 20, 2013 (UTC)
If you don't have any objections, I'll go delete all the unused redirects today and we can do the renames later.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  08:27, July 21, 2013 (UTC)
I haven't made sure yet that the history won't be erased when moving them so you should wait a little bit longer. There haven't been many instances like this one (maybe this is the first) where we had to deal with templates so extensively. MasterDeva (talk) 22:02, July 21, 2013 (UTC)
After finishing a little test I've confirmed that the order of action I wrote above (first deleting the English redirects and then moving the Japanese named templates) does indeed work. MediaWiki preserves properly both histories without either one getting deleted. You may start dealing with them. Afterwords we can use a bot to edit the episode articles themselves and replace the broken template links with the new working ones. MasterDeva (talk) 19:23, July 23, 2013 (UTC)
For now, I'll just delete the redirects. I won't rename them yet because the discussion isn't over.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  14:03, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Status Update[edit source]

I've been trying to deal with a large amount of paperwork and finding reliable help thus far has proven to be very difficult. I'll be very busy dealing with it until the first week of August (if I am forced to do it alone) and I won't be able provide assistance during that period. MasterDeva (talk) 00:19, July 28, 2013 (UTC)

Phew, that's finally over. I'll start contributing again during the weekend. MasterDeva (talk) 11:29, August 8, 2013 (UTC)
Or so I thought... All this angst that's been building up has finally caused me trouble sleeping these last days. Now I'm feeling tired all day long, making it hard to concentrate on anything. I'm in the middle of putting myself together again and I need some time off to help me do it. MasterDeva (talk) 19:38, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Jinbe Portrait[edit source]

Hi Yata, on File talk:Jinbe Portrait.png we're trying to get a source for the anime version, which appears to have come from a jpg. Could you look at the history for the file and tell me when the version we're trying to find was uploaded? Hopefully that information can help us find the source. The jpg is File:Jinbei Anime Thumbnail.jpg. Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 18:34, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

"Yata"  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  19:00, September 9, 2013 (UTC)
The source was not provided but I think I can narrow it down enough to track it down. MasterDeva (talk) 20:40, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't know why I said Yata, as I obviously meant you. What I'm curious about is the date the version was uploaded, because if it was uploaded the week after the episode aired, it would make things very easy for us. Also, the background image of the sky suggests that it's either from around the time of Marineford or Fishman Island, and the date could help us make that determination. Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 03:25, September 12, 2013 (UTC)

Shiki's Crew[edit source]

Hi Deva, can you please either unlock this template or rename the misnamed portraits that it uses? Thanks.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  14:42, September 12, 2013 (UTC)

Actually, all of the images left in Category:Misnamed Images (there are currently 6 remaining, the 3 portraits Staw mentioned, Shusui & Oars infoboxes, and Zoro's post-TS portrait) need an admin to rename them, so it would be great if you could finish them off for us. Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 17:47, September 12, 2013 (UTC)

And you should be able to use the new queue system to replace the numerous uses of Zoro's portrait quickly as long as you change it on the one blog it's used on beforehand. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 17:51, September 12, 2013 (UTC)
Almost done, I noticed that the queue system has issues that should be addressed. Specifically the inability to rename files used in templates who are not their own page (this is not specified in the warning at the bottom, which only makes mention of "templates" in general). Also, I have reported the remaining two files that have issues to the Wikia Staff as my efforts to deal with them proved unsuccessful. I'll let you know when they get in contact with me. MasterDeva (talk) 22:40, September 12, 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry about the queue issues, I should've realized it wouldn't work well with the portrait gallery. (I've only started using the system today). But if you wanted to talk about some of the issues with the system, User:Foodbandlt is the creator of the script and he has been asking around about how it works. But thanks for helping out with the other images! JustSomeDude...  Talk | 23:18, September 12, 2013 (UTC)
Also, for some reason the redirects you left for the Oars image didn't work. After fooling around, I managed to re-upload the image instead of trying to move it, which worked. We've lost the file history in doing this though, so it might be better to try to delete my upload and try to move it again. I've made sure the old image will not be marked for deletion as well. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 00:34, September 13, 2013 (UTC)
I would have appreciated if you did not mess around with these images since I specifically stated above that a Wikia staff will handle them... MasterDeva (talk) 09:53, September 13, 2013 (UTC)

I promise to try and not screw anything up or do anything wrong like hiding edits, etc. I know you normally respond to posts on your own talk page, but in this one case, I'd appreciate a message on User talk:JustSomeDude... once you've done it. I realized awhile ago that you had been waiting for me to respond in the talk page discussion of that, and I did finally respond in the forum. I'm not sure if you ever saw that response, and the forum may be moving towards a poll in two days now.

Also, it might be nice to update the community messages with the active polls and some of the more important active discussions. I'd really appreciate a mention of Forum:Removal of Featured Articles, since that's been dead in the water for some time. Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 13:39, September 27, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, I had extended the time until the poll started several times while waiting for your response, but overslept today and someone started it up. I'd support you if you wanted to stop it and discuss more though. But for that, you'll have to post on the forum. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 16:20, September 30, 2013 (UTC)

How to create additional user pages[edit source]

Hey MasterDeva, I saw you made a page separate from your profile that lists all the three great powers. I was wondering how is it you made an additional page for yourself? I'd like to make one for myself. By the way, I was really glad when I found that user page of yours because back when it was part of the official wiki I looked at it a lot and when it was deleted I was disappointed I could not find it again. I actually posted it in my profile in case it ended up deleted again hah. Anyway, thanks in advance!

Reeves92 (talk) 05:18, June 9, 2014 (UTC)

Hello Reeves92. I'm assuming that you are referring to this. It is fairly easy to create a new page for personal use, same as starting a sandbox. Let's just say, for example, that you want to recreate for yourself the page you mentioned to me above. All it takes to do so is typing http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/User:Reeves92/Groups_in_the_Three_Great_Powers in your browser's address bar and clicking on 'create' to start editing the page. After you're satisfied with the content you've added, click on 'publish' and the page will be created. In other words, go to your main user page and add "/page_title_goes_here" (without the quotation marks) at the end of the address. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me again. Ban Length[edit source]

One year? If you can block vandals, block them forever. And, however, do block his new account. --Meganoide (talk) 12:30, July 17, 2014 (UTC)

There is no such option to select from the ones available. MasterDeva (talk) 12:35, July 17, 2014 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure there is the option to ban forever. However, the vandal uploaded about 400 images. To shorten the time for removing them, could you temporary give me the power to delete images? --Meganoide (talk) 12:43, July 17, 2014 (UTC)
I remember now, I had to add it by hand. Both accounts have been indefinitely blocked. Thanks for your help. MasterDeva (talk) 13:20, July 17, 2014 (UTC)

All is clean now[edit source]

Hey, if I'm correct everything should be clean now, seeing at Special:NewFiles and Special:Log/delete. The first two vandals I banned have only been banned for 24h though because I didn't know how serious the situation was. I think they do deserve a permaban, so you could change the ban settings if you'd like.

On a side note, I was posting you a message about LWN before mass deletion lagged me out. I am partially responsible for looking wikis to try out the so-called "LWN" script. I've asked one of the Dance, who wasn't against it, and also posted Yata a message right before the mass deletion. I'd also like to ask if adding this script to OPWiki would be okay with you. More information can be found here.

I've changed the ban length to "indefinite" as you can read from my post above and deleted any residual images. Indeed, everything seems to be fine. Bravo. I've read about the "LWN" script trial and I agree to be tested on the One Piece Wiki. MasterDeva (talk) 13:59, July 17, 2014 (UTC)

Jinbe Cover Image[edit source]

As per the winning result on the Viz manga forum, could you revert File:Solo Journey of Jinbe, Knight of the Sea.png back to the Viz image? Mr. Whatever (talk) 22:17, July 28, 2014 (UTC)

Sure. MasterDeva (talk) 02:47, July 29, 2014 (UTC)

Byojack[edit source]

As it was moved without discussion, can you please move Byrnndi Byojack back to its original name of Byojack, until the talk page discussion decides. Mr. Whatever (talk) 01:42, September 3, 2014 (UTC)

Done. I'll check the special myself to verify the name issue too. MasterDeva (talk) 01:53, September 3, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks (that should be a redirect either way though, probably).
The image also needs to be renamed though. Mr. Whatever (talk) 01:58, September 3, 2014 (UTC)
I'm on it. I'm not too sure about the redirect though at the moment. MasterDeva (talk) 02:00, September 3, 2014 (UTC)

Another page locked and unable to be reverted, even though the original version was there for months prior, and there was no discussion. Can you fix it too? [7]. Mr. Whatever (talk) 03:34, September 3, 2014 (UTC)

Done. MasterDeva (talk) 04:29, September 3, 2014 (UTC)
Err, it's still locked and on the wrong image. Mr. Whatever (talk) 16:04, September 4, 2014 (UTC)
That was weird... I remember giving the command to unlock it but I was multitasking at that moment and lagging somewhat so I didn't check the log. Perhaps the browser's connection responce timed out. Anyway, I made sure it is unlocked now. MasterDeva (talk) 01:48, September 6, 2014 (UTC)

MasterDeva/Groups in the Three Great Powers[edit source]

Hi MD, I was going through the special pages doing cleanup and saw that your gallery subpage is the only page on the wiki in the system category, Category:Pages where template include size is exceeded. Wikia sets limits on the amount of data that can be transcluded on a single page (for security reasons), and your page exceeds this limit - if you look down the bottom the last few galleries are simple links instead.

If you intend on keeping it, could you consider tabbing into 2-3 separate pages? Thanks, Zodiaque             10:19, September 17, 2014 (UTC)

I see. Could you tell me the repercussions if I didn't? MasterDeva (talk) 01:01, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
I wouldn't really say there are repercussions, it's just that the galleries that exceed the size limit for the page aren't being displayed. You can see that Whitebeard Pirates Gallery, Blackbeard Pirates Gallery and Big Mom Pirates Gallery are just links at the bottom of the page - they're not being transcluded. If that doesn't matter then you're free to just leave it the way it is, but if you want to keep the visual guide to the Yonko and their crews you're better off putting them on a separate tab. Zodiaque             05:40, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
I noticed that but I'd rather not maim the page like that. I'm considering linking into some of the templates instead of transcluding them into the page and only include those I only care about. Thanks for your concern Zodiaque, I really appreciate it. MasterDeva (talk) 13:38, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

Your Demotion Discussion[edit source]

Hi there, there is a discussion calling for your demotion, due to your inactivity. If you want to keep your rights, you should defend your absence from the wiki and position as an admin. The discussion is here.

As a personal request from me, I'd like you to sincerely think upon your inactivity on the wiki for years, and ask yourself if it's really worth being called upon to handle your responsibilities as an admin, when you can be a regular editor, without any burden to be active on here, and you could freely spend your time focusing on your obligations in real life. If you truly want to keep your rights, why not become a rollback user? You don't need to be obligated to spend on the wiki as often as you'd need to be as an admin, yet you can continue editing in the same manner much like before.  Jademing  Talk   01:21, September 24, 2014 (UTC)

The discussion for your demotion is still going on and will probably go to poll soon if you don't respond. Videogamep Talk 18:41, September 25, 2014 (UTC)

Nice to see that you're resigning. Anyway, as a bureaucrat, I think you can demote yourself, but if you can't, you can ask Levi to demote you, as he is a member of the VSTF. Thanks, again.  Jademing  Talk   21:54, September 26, 2014 (UTC)

There is no reason to thank me in the first place as I did not do it for you personally nor did I give that impression. How would you know though since I did not even get the time to properly explain anything? Anyway, I have some things to do first and when I'm done I'll demote myself or ask Leviathan 89 in case I encounter any problems. MasterDeva (talk) 22:07, September 26, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, I meant to thank you for saving the wiki from further conflict. Again, I'm sorry for any misunderstandings from my previous message. Anyway, thanks for all of the great contributions you've done as an editor and an admin over the years. I hope we can continue to work together in the future, when you are not too busy with your real life.  Jademing  Talk   22:22, September 26, 2014 (UTC)

Regarding the forum[edit source]

Sorry Deva, I think I'm just tired from working all day now, or if it was always that way, but little of your post makes sense right now. I'm confused by the parts around "chose to interpret what I once said however it suited yourself to save face" and that stuff. So a little elaboration/re-explanation would really help me out. But this doesn't really need to go on in the forum since it seems to be more of a conversation for just us, so I moved it to your talk page, if that's ok.

Also, to be complete honest, I totally forgot about the part where you said you'd be active in October. That's my mistake. I'm really sorry about that... Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 23:24, September 27, 2014 (UTC)

What I meant was a reply to the "you guys should have asked me to help" part you said in your post. Which I said in response to the people who said they "cared" but all they did was make funny jokes about my absence during that period. To be honest, I thought you remembered that and understood why I said it... Anyway, if you are having trouble with "saving face" you could read it as being the "good guy" if you will. If you were more open and honest with me like the "ran out of patience" part you said from the forum, instead of being more bland or round-about, things would have been different.
You did not only run out of patience but decided to avoid me completely. How could I have known about these feelings you had if you didn't communicate them to me? Ultimately that's what I have a problem with. You should have the said the things you wanted to say regardless if you made the other party sad or uncomfortable. If they are so important that you feel the need to express them don't be polite but be honest and straightforward. Just like what Jademing has done a topic above. Do you understand what I mean?
P.S. You shouldn't say you are sorry and then end it with "thanks" JustSomeDude... MasterDeva (talk) 07:14, September 28, 2014 (UTC)
I'm still not sure I follow on parts of that first paragraph (the quotes seem to refer to things I don't quite remember well enough to understand the context), but I think I get the general idea of what you're saying. Yeah, you are totally right about more honesty being needed. That's something I generally try to do, and it's led me to create quite a few rough forums here. The problem I've run into regarding my opinion of your activity level is that it's changed quite a bit in recent weeks. In the past when we've talked about this issue, what I've said has been my honest opinion of matters. It was really only after Gal's vandalism spree began and you weren't around to assist (or as far as I can tell, even notice) that I began to change my viewpoint. Unfortunately, I was too focused on dealing with Galaxy to think too much about talking to you, and that's just another mistake on my part. But even after that (and even right now), I still never made a full turnaround on my point, and were the issue of your demotion going to poll now, I'd probably still be undecided. So while I may not have totally been honest about the situation, it is not like I've been doing that this whole time. So yeah, negative feelings were floating around in my head, but they weren't the driving force behind anything until the forum was left unattended for days. Hope that this makes things clearer.
PS: Once again, you're totally right about not ending posts like that with "Thanks". It's just my default sign-off for talk page posts, emails, etc and I rarely actually think about if it fits the message. Thanks for pointing that out! JustSomeDude...  Talk | 04:32, September 29, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for responding. As long as you get the general idea I don't think there is any need for me to elaborate on anything. I'm not too concerned about the reason you changed your viewpoint of me, the demotion, or whatever. What I do care though is that after we've finished this conversation you'll be more direct and less hesitant to talk about the smallest doubts/concerns or anything with other users. So long as you can promise me that I can rest assured that you will make a good administrator. You are after all one of the people I'm considering voting for hence why I wanted to straight things out. I wanted to resolve any misunderstandings before voting so that I can make most of my vote. It was no popularity vote and I knew exactly why I voted for DancePowederer and Yatanogarasu in the elections we had on January 2011, I can't be so sure though about some of the candidates this time. But I do have some capable people in mind, you being one of them, so it is of importance to me have this conversation with you. MasterDeva (talk) 07:43, September 29, 2014 (UTC)
Well, thanks for the vote of confidence at least! Of course I want to be best administrator I can be if I'm elected, and I appreciate you taking the time to point out a few of my shortcomings. Now that I know that this conservation is a "test", I honestly feel a bit awkward continuing it, actually... (I don't wanna start pandering to voters during election season, lol) But I guess if you have any more things to say on the matter, I'll still be happy to answer them.
Also, while dealing with some other things, I went ahead and asked DP to give you rollback rights so that you can still deal with renaming images, etc. Anyways, have a good day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by JustSomeDude... (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~ next time!
You beat me to it... I was saving that for Wednesday, oh well. So long as you keep the things I said in mind I don't have anything more to add. I think you have all the requirements needed of an admin, so I'll just wish you good luck. MasterDeva (talk) 11:49, September 30, 2014 (UTC)

Kaido[edit source]

Hi, I just wanted to know why did you delete my Kaido trivia about him appearing in color cover of chapet 693. I said that he is most probably him, hinting to his appearence, even though it's not officialy said. He is placed in the anime with Big Mom, Shanks and Blackbeard, wich are all Yonko, so shouldn't somebody who isn't a yonko at all be together with the other Yonko? Personally I think that's a perfect proof. If there are any problems please tell me

Grievous67 (talk) 21:10, September 30, 2014 (UTC)

The problem is that we do not know if it's really him. It might be him but it would be speculation to say that. So far this unknown character is known to be an "unidentified person" that appeared in the cover. If you're certain that your trivia belongs in the article, I suggest you ask in the talk page and see what responses you get. MasterDeva (talk) 21:34, September 30, 2014 (UTC)

Userpage too large[edit source]

Hey Deva, right now you've got a userpage in :Category:Pages where template include size is exceeded, which is automatically added to pages with too many templates. Problem is that it's category for articles, not userpages, so you need to either split it into a couple pages, or let me delete it. Thanks. JustSomeDude...  Talk | 00:53, October 2, 2015 (UTC)

I've temporarily "fixed" it for now until I figure out a better way to organise the page. Thanks for notifying me. MasterDeva (talk) 02:03, October 2, 2015 (UTC)
