Figures[edit source]

Hi! I just saw that you uploaded this picture: http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Image:OPAnimeHeroesWinter4.jpg

Are those your figures or is it a picture you found somewhere else? FusionFaller 23:52, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

This is a picture I found in this thread of HobbyHype: http://forums.hobbyhype.com/showthread.php?t=7401 Xinyingho 06:55, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Merchandise Image[edit source]

Hi, Can you add the following category when you upload an image in one of the Merchandise pages

If you know other editors that regularly upload some, maybe you can tell them too, thanks. Kdom 22:04, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Hi again,

When you upload images to replace others, its better to upload the existing version via the Upload a new version of this file menu. It helps keeping the historical of the article and it helps me maintaining their categorisation (I remove the category when an image is unused). Usually I check what other people do with the New pictures menu but you upload so many recently and you seems much more reliable than myself on this article.

Btw I've learned that it is better to put [[Category:Merchandise images|{{PAGENAME}}]] since otherwise all the images are classified at the letter F, with PAGENAME variable they are classified at the first letter of the file (if you replace it with toto it will be classified at the letter T). If their are images that are now useless, one can add the {{Delete}} template to them Thanks Kdom 19:42, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

Sometimes I use Upload a new version, some other times I just make a new pic because the old one was badly labeled. But then I will put a {{Delete}} template to old pix I replace with better named ones. Thanx for the tip.
As for the category with the pagename meta-variable, I'm not sure to understand. When I go to the [Category:Merchandise_images] page, I can't see any classification at all. --Xinyingho 20:13, March 8, 2010 (UTC)
Then it's perfect :-). I have added a table of content so that you visualise better (especially if you click on F). I've thought that maybe we could create a Game image category to separate them from the figurines. All these images put together makes me realise how much products there is after One Piece trademark, that is really crazy :-) Kdom 21:12, March 8, 2010 (UTC)
I'm actually only maintaining the figure section, but -believe me- there are a lot more of keychains, plushes and whatever stuff under the OP brandname ;). As for the Merch images content, I'm beginning to fathom the problem, but I still don't understand what's up after all: if you go to letter O, there are other pix than the ones with a name beginning with O...I don't know if the variable would really help in handling this, maybe it's a bug in the table of content module? --Xinyingho 21:33, March 8, 2010 (UTC)
Well it may not work perfectly while the images are mostly categorized under File. Also if you edit File:Box-6.jpg, you will see that it is redicted to OP_UC_EP_2, hence the letter O (that may not have been the better choice I have made so far... but when the files are badly name it's not very easy. I wished one can redirect files as one can do with articles). As you can see I have made the effort to redirect the files from Category:Portraits this week-end and now the TOC works fine, that was not very interesting editing but I think it's more usefull now (well I have to do the job for the Characters and the covers images categories... :-(( ). Kdom 22:35, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

OK, I have reorganized the Merchandise images category. Now they are mostly clasified by alphabetix order. I think that in the future it would be good to make a convention for the name. The most practical I found is the one you are using for Gashapon series : <serie>-<Name> (Ex GashaponGrandBattle1-Ace.jpg). It's better if the character name starts with an upper case. Maybe it would be good to rename some images which have weird name (like FIG-080730-1026S-4.jpg) so that they are grouped by series.

I also have created a Category:Figurine images which contains all the types of figurines. Contrary to the merchandise which are better classified by series, they are classified by character name (Ie GashaponGrandBattle1-Ace.jpg is redirect like that [[Category:Figurine images|Ace]]). I just had a problem with images with several characters so I put them at the begining of the category into 4 groups : !Box, !Duo, !Group and !Strawhat (The ! allows to put them at the beginning). Maybe you can check if I have not made some mistakes or if you find something more appropriate. Kdom 13:16, May 8, 2010 (UTC)

Impressive work man. I got nothing to say apart that you're right about renaming pix with random names. But I'll tell you something: I won't do it :p I think that most of the time I named pix as <series><character>, without any dash in between. If you find it more useful, I will add a dash for new pictures. I will also add the figure category from now on. Nice work ! --Xinyingho 16:19, May 8, 2010 (UTC)

Just an idea coming: it would probably be better to put pictures in the !Duo category into both characters respective categories if technically possible. But it would require a lot of work to do so as this idea may be applicable to the !Group category too... --Xinyingho 16:30, May 8, 2010 (UTC)

I tried the double categorization but it does not work. What I don't know however is if all the Duo are part of a Duo set (like the Dragon ball series) or simply because there are 2 figurines on the picture. In the latter case maybe it's better to put them under Group, or to find separate pictures.
Concerning the name, I just need a clear separator between the serie and the name so as to be able as to use some parsing functions. A space is ok if there is none before. The upper case is more important as ace is put after Zoro. That's also why there is a difference between the POP and the Pop images... Kdom 07:53, May 9, 2010 (UTC)

Template:Template[edit source]

I undo your change on the Template:Template. Tipota is probably going to make a major change on it (cf template talk page) so it is not really the good time. Also it is a generic template, so it is not a good idea to modify it so that it only works for the template you are using. Either modify all the title sections or create a second template. Maybe the second solution would be better, at least it is worth a discussion. Kdom 21:57, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

All right, I updated it just to be able to have a 3.6 and 3.7 sections. But I'll just wait for Tipota's update and see thereafter what I'll do. --Xinyingho 22:12, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

We were told by a Wikia staff member that we're not allowed to incorporate the official "wikia" logo into our own. So we need to design a new one. You can submit an idea if you've got one. Eventually we'll be voting for one of them. You can check out the forum topic here. YazzyDream 23:15, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Tabs on characters pages[edit source]

If you have something to say about tabs and splitting of character pages (like now Monkey D. Luffy's page) - i.e. to apply this to other Strawhats? In what variant? Or don't you like the idea at all? Other comments? - please express your opinion here. Ruxax 14:03, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

one piece HSCF[edit source]

Hi Xinyingho,

I'm from brazil, and i read your page about figures of one piece.

So i wonder if i ask something: Do you thing that banpresto will continue to make the hscf line? I se the editing about the set 4 and 5, but do you think that will come the others sets with the rest of the tripulation?

Thanks and congratulations for the informations that you share with the world!

Pimenta

You're welcome Pimenta. I don't really know what Banpresto is foreseeing for the HSCF line as I'm not an insider. But you can bet on the fact that they will keep on releasing new figures on this line. They will probably release at least the remaining of the Strawhat crew (is this what you means with 'tripulation'?) and go on with other characters. --Xinyingho 11:13, November 25, 2010 (UTC)
Hi, Yes, thats what i mean. Thants for the answer! So i will continues to buy!
Muito obrigado! Pimenta.

Just to help you, on the site ebay.com you will find the picture of one piece hscf set 5.

Merch Pages[edit source]

I just wanted to say, dude, you are amaaazing. Thanks for the keeping those merch pages up to date. If you didn't, I doubt anyone else would. Or at least it would be very, very rare for anyone to add any info, and it wouldn't be quite up to par with what you do. I actually really enjoy looking through the pages myself, and oogle at all those great toys and figures, but since I'm not actually a collector of... anything, it's all pretty overwhelming.  YazzyDream  Talk  Admin    23:16,2/13/2011

Hey thx :) I know very few people are actually motivated to keep the merch pages up to date. It's not as exciting as making a page on the actual OP story. But I do enjoy understanding what are the connections between all those product lines and pass on the knowledge. There are so many OP merch but only in Japanese, it's easy for a bad reseller to fool somebody else.
Actually, it could be good if someone could get up to date plushes, video games and other misc merch, as I'm restraining myself on figures. But I think it's even more overwhelming to even try to complete the plush section ^^;; --Xinyingho 23:36, February 13, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, I bet. Especially considering what a mascot Chopper is. Too many things... but also awesome at the same time. I wish we could get more editors interested in OP merch to join up. But that's another toiling problem in of itself. DX Haha. Well I'm grateful for all the figure info you put up. That "three musketeers" figure was something I'd heard about but wasn't sure where to look for or what it was called. (It looks awesome.)  YazzyDream  Talk  Admin    01:33,2/14/2011

I don't know if you've seen this, I can't find a reference here yet and you seem to be the figurine boss person nowadays (meant in a nice way ;-) ). One-Winged Hawk 20:40, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

I knew about this Figuarts Zero diorama and the coming Figuart Zero time-skip figures :) For stuff freshly announced, I don't always update the related article. Sometimes, I just forget but update when the figures are out. But indeed, the diorama is really cool! Xinyingho 20:49, February 28, 2011 (UTC)
It sounds odd, considering I'm of the female gender, for me to say this, but the Nami figure is really pretty. One-Winged Hawk 21:36, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

LOL, indeed, good stuff (^^)b
However, I don't think that the diorama will be sold at all, it was just used as a showcase at an event. And Figuarts Zero prototypes look good but final products aren't always that fine. --Xinyingho 21:48, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

re:About figurine pix[edit source]

Thanks for telling me. Yea, I wasn't sure how it was arranged once I saw the category page, I was a bit confused and didn't really feel like looking too much into it at the time. So I was afraid of messing it up, and decided to just leave it for the moment. I'll know from now on though. :)  YazzyDream  Talk  Admin    22:51,2/28/2011

Devil Fruit Infobox Colorschemes[edit source]

Hey, Xin, would you consider voting in the Devil Fruit Colorschemes?  YazzyDream  Talk  Admin    03:56,3/2/2011

I would do but I don't understand the "Match Between" category. Xinyingho 08:17, March 2, 2011 (UTC)

Tabs[edit source]

I corrected Template:POPTab, so now it should work properly. The little triangle can be added, but I really don't like it. The darker stripe below is a bit problematic, I haven't figured yet how to add it properly.

On User:Ruxax/Test3 is variant of universal base tab template that uses new style. However there is a problem: it looks bad when there are many tabs and second row appears.

Ruxax 15:07, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the fix :) I didnt think about making what you did for the active tab because I wanted to keep the original CSS class as much as possible. But yeah, it's better this way.
I think that the little triangle alone is not good, but it works well with the darker stripe. By the way, the stripe is an image of a fixed size, which is added with a WikiaUserPagesHeader:before css rule (visible in Chrome DOM inspector, but not in Firefox inspector).
For the tabs on several rows, it's understandable as the wikia staff didn't think the chart for our needs. Maybe we can have this workaround (see below). Xinyingho 17:02, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

Normal User:Ruxax/Test3 Workaround (with a system allowing the first tab to be something else than the Main page) User:Ruxax/Test3 User:Ruxax/Test3

Regarding workaround: look at User:Ruxax/Test3#Workaround. Ruxax 17:54, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

The problem with the dark stripe is that for some strange reason the CSS rule background: url("http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb34173/common/skins/oasis/images/sprite.png") no-repeat scroll 0 -48px transparent; (that produces it) is ignored in wiki-text. Ruxax 18:46, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

I ran some tests on a dummy webpage. Indeed, it doesn't work if you don't put a position:absolute rule somewhere...I don't know why.
So this is working:
<html>
<style>
div::after {
	background: url("sprite.png") 0 -48px no-repeat; height: 8px; width: 550px; content:' ';position:absolute
}
</style>
<body>
<div></div>
</body>
</html>
But remove the position:absolute css rule and you can't see anything then... --Xinyingho 19:44, March 3, 2011 (UTC)
Ok, I ran some other tests in the wiki editor itself. And it seems that anything that is a reference to an image, like the img html tag or the url() css function, aren't rendered at all. We can only include image through the File wiki template...We'll have to live with this. How did you make it for the active tab arrow pic? --Xinyingho 20:00, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I was wrong, the triangle picture also can't be added (for the same reason). Ruxax 20:34, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

UPD: Made it so tabs now have the dark stripe below. Ruxax 21:31, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

Well done :) I think that, when using the workaround, it would be nice to be able to disable the dark stripe for the 1st rows and enable it only for the last row. Maybe, we should center the tabs too? Finally, if you could find a way to enable the arrow without having an activated link, it would be nice but I don't think there is a way to make it... Xinyingho 22:20, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

Merch Pics[edit source]

I just saw the message you left to Max Lee. Normal users can't rename pictures but admins can. So, if you leave me a list of the pics that need to be renamed as well as what the new name should be, I'd be more than happy to move them.DancePowderer Talk 04:26, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Thx, I'll make a small listing later on. However, I don't understand why normal users can change article names but not picture names. Is there a specific reason for this restriction? --Xinyingho 04:21, August 1, 2011 (UTC)

I don't know why only admins can change pics like that, I just know that they can. As for moving them, it looks like YazzyDream just took care of it.DancePowderer Talk 04:33, August 1, 2011 (UTC)

Hey. I removed the Dragon Ball reference because (as you know) the page is about a One Piece figure line. Besides, there are other WCF figures that Banpresto has created or in the process of creating (Kamer Riders, Gundam, Tiger & Bunny, Naruto, etc) also. Since those aren't likely to be mentioned on a One Piece site, I figured it made since to remove references to a completely separate intellectual property. Also, I removed the Gallery section because it wasn't something that was being updated. Nine volumes have been released since the last volume was listed in the gallery and getting it caught up was impossible. :\

Log figures[edit source]

Hi there. I was wondering if you could help me get my hands on some figures from the amazing log collection. I currently have all the main figures from the first three sets plus zeff, roger and pandaman. I'm currently in tokyo and would like to grab all the secret figures plus the fourth set while I'm here as I've never seen them before and I'm still struggling to find them. Thanks heaps and feel free to email me (tahl@ozemail.com.au)

Zzist

Sorry I can't help you for this. But you're in Tokyo! Just try to go to Akihabara Electronic Town, you should find everything you need there. Just don't remain on the main avenue and try to go to the parallel side-streets. I myself aren't that much into collectibles lately. Last time, I updated a page here was probably last July...  Xinyingho (talk) 14:22, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

So now after a lot of searching and a bit of luck I have almost all of the figures except two: Gaimon and Hiluluk (both secret figures). I have been all over tokyo and I can't for the life of me find them. How did you get photos? Do you have them? Do you have any more idea where online or in tokyo I could find them? Thanks for your help so far,

Zzist

You're best bet then is too go online to auction.yahoo.jp. It's all in Japanese and you have to live in Japan to use this ebay-like website so you have to go through a company proposing some deputy services to behave as a middle-man... Good luck! Xinyingho (talk) 15:56, February 15, 2013 (UTC)
