Vivre Card - One Piece Visual Dictionary (VIVRE CARD 〜ONE PIECE図鑑〜?) is the current databook format, which eschews traditionally-bound books for periodic "sets" of tearaway cards. The first set was released on September 4, 2018, with numerous updates in following months and years.[1]

Overview[]

Unlike previous databooks, "Vivre Card" is a collection of cards that act as information pages. The book itself is in fact a ring binder that allows the organization and categorization of those cards. Promotional material states it contains "over 400 characters",[2] though it was described as "never-ending" by manga editor Takuma Naito.[1]

Each Vivre Card is created by the merchandise company Caramel Mama.[3]

Skill Cards[]

Skill cards are cards featuring a skill and/or an ability. They have the user's name, the skill and attacks debut with a reference scene from the manga, and the user's height (compare to Luffy's).

Errors and Revisions[]

Most errors made in Vivre Card were corrected on its official website[6] while a few were directly contradicted by the original manga and SBS. Some errors corrected on the website were fixed on later printings of the cards.

  • Sanji's Vivre Card erroneously stated that Germa Kingdom was in the South Blue. The official Vivre Card website's revision page corrected the statement to North Blue.
  • Shanks' card stated that he was part of the Four Emperors when he met Luffy 12-13 years before the present day. However, it was later revealed in Chapter 957 that Shanks joined the Emperors six years ago. The revisions webpage changed the timeline to match the manga.
  • Lucky Roux's name was originally spelled as "Lucky Roo" on his card, but it was then changed to the former spelling. Also, his timeline entry initially erroneously stated that Luffy ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi two years ago; this was corrected to 12 years ago.
  • Pearl's birthday was changed from June 1 to July 11 in the online revisions.
  • Marianne (Miss Goldenweek)'s height was changed from 152 cm to 145 cm on the revisions webpage.
  • Hiriluk was initially stated to have originated from the West Blue, but the online revision changed this to Drum Island in the Grand Line.
  • Aisa's timeline initially stated that she was born 9 years before the present day and awakened her Mantra in that timeframe, with the former entry directly contradicting her stated age of 11 at the front of the card. Both of these entries were corrected to 11 years ago.
  • Rob Lucci's card stated that he learned Haki during the timeskip. This was changed in the revision webpage, saying instead that he strengthened his Haki in that timeframe.
  • Trafalgar D. Water Law's card states that he became a Warlord less than a year prior to the present day, but this was changed to an unknown timeframe.
  • In the Pacifista card it is stated that they are modeled after the "former" Warlord Bartholomew Kuma. The online revision corrected this to say Kuma is a current Warlord at the time of writing.
  • Little Oars Jr.'s height was originally given as 38 meters. However, the online revisions changed this to 60 meters.
  • Hody Jones' card initially stated he formed the New Fish-Man Pirates over 10 years prior to the present day. The online revisions change this to an unknown timeframe.
  • Kouzuki Momonosuke's card originally stated that the Artificial Devil Fruit he had eaten was a SMILE. The online revisions changed this to say he ate a failed artificial fruit; later in the SBS it was confirmed that the fruit he ate which was made by Vegapunk is compositionally different from SMILEs.[7]
  • In his first card, Kanjuro's age was given as 39. However, this was changed to 34 in the online revisions and was reflected in his "Kurozumi Kanjuro" card.
  • Donquixote Rosinante's height was originally given as 435 cm. It was changed to 293 cm in the online revisions. Also, his Marine number was changed from 10746 to 01746.
  • Pedro's card was amended by the online revisions by having his age entry changed to "age at death".
  • Nekomamushi was not stated to possess any forms of Haki on his original card, but the online revisions changed this to him possessing Observation and Armament Haki.
  • Charlotte Praline was originally stated to be the "captain's wife", indicating that Aladine had become captain of the Sun Pirates. However, this was corrected in the online revisions to "first mate's wife".
  • Tenguyama Hitetsu's age was originally given as 58; the online revisions changed it to 81. This helped avoid the entry conflicting with the manga when Hitetsu was revealed to be Kouzuki Sukiyaki, who fathered Kouzuki Oden 59 years ago.
  • In Shimotsuki Yasuie and Toko's shared card, only Toko was indicated to have eaten a defective SMILE. However, Chapter 1050 confirms that Yasuie ate from the same fruit as Toko.
  • Caesar Clown's age was originally given as 40, but later updated to 55 in the online revisions. This brings him much closer in age to his colleagues within MADS, although he is still the youngest known.
  • The databook did not initially specify Sasaki's race, leading to lingering confusion as to whether he is human or not, given his fangs and appearance. The online revisions later clarified him as a bluespine unicornfish Fish-Man.
  • Kuma's card indicates he earned his title of "Tyrant" before becoming an Officer in the Revolutionary Army, while the manga later revealed he was a founding member and Army Commander of the Revolutionaries, and was given the title of "Tyrant" years after leaving the Revolutionaries.
  • Zunesha's height and length were revised from 35 km and 20 km to 5 km and 2 km, respectively.
