Wapol's Omnivorous Hurrah is the fifth cover story created as a side story on the title pages of each One Piece chapter. The story can be set between the events of Drum Island Arc and the timeskip.
Short Summary[]
Having been propelled onto an unknown island by Luffy, Wapol experiences life as a homeless man for the first time. Eventually, he uses his Baku Baku powers to create unique toys by fusing different objects together and begins to work his way back up the social ladder by selling these toys to children. In the end, he opened his own shop and married Kinderella.
Long Summary[]
On an unknown island, the landscape had been marred, as if someone had took huge bites out of it. That person is revealed to be Wapol, who landed there after being sent flying by Luffy from Drum Island and regained his original figure after eating so much. He surprises a local man by sporting a tree head after eating one. Then he eats a gas lamp, annoying the nocturnal animals at night, and then a bench, scaring away unsuspecting people trying to sit on him. Finally, Wapol snaps and starts eating an entire town for dessert, causing him to be hated by its inhabitants and ultimately results in his arrest by the Marines, much to his surprise.
Meanwhile, back on Drum Island, Dalton officially becomes the new king, with the kingdom being renamed as the Sakura Kingdom and its old flag replaced by Hiriluk's Jolly Roger. Together with the citizenry, they begin shoveling the snow in order to begin building their new castle on the lower level of the island.
Wapol manages to escape from the Marines, running away with tears in his eyes. He then ends up in a dump with a dog named Hakowan that constantly pees on him and where a boy throws stones at him. Upon which, he sadly realizes that his days as a privileged king were officially over. During the cold season, Wapol remains outside in the snow while others were able to enjoy each other's company in their warm homes. He attempts to earn some cash by selling matches to people, but was turned away by everyone in disgust. The former tyrant then makes his new home under a bridge, where he begins eating broken toys to curb his hunger and sorrow. However, while munching on the junk, he ends up using his Baku Baku Factory technique to combine the toy parts into new, bigger toys. He also ends up eating Hakowan too, turning his head into a box with lens for eyes.
The next day, the local children see and fall in love with Wapol's toy creations, which he witnesses from afar while sitting on a staircase. Seeing a chance to make a new living for himself, he begins auctioning his toys to the children for a profit. He eventually makes enough money to build his own toy booth, which quickly booms in popularity. One of the children brings his new toy home and shows it to his scientist father, who discovers that the toy is made out of an unidentified, but incredibly powerful alloy. Upon this discovery, Wapol was then suddenly thrusted into the limelight for this invention, which he himself dubbed "Wapometal." With this new metal, Wapol became rich enough to build a much bigger toy shop, then an entire factory, and even an entire conglomerate. He then ends up marrying a beautiful and apparently well-known woman by the name of Kinderella, otherwise known as “Miss Universe”.
Eventually, Wapol's insignia and influence reaches throughout the entire globe. With Kinderella and Hakowan at his side, Wapol revels at the fact that he had become more rich and powerful than he ever was as a king.

Trivia[]
- This is the fourth cover story to be animated. It is also the first to be told in a flashback and the first to be seen after the timeskip.
- The part where Dalton is seen as king isn't shown in the anime.
- In the anime, Wapol suggested having his tale of climbing back up the social ladder be published as "Wapol's Great Memoirs".
- At 23 installments, this is (discounting the disparate pieces of stories such as the Straw Hat's Separation Serial) currently the shortest cover story.
