達坦家族為達坦所領導的山賊團，主要據點為黎明島的科爾布山。據卡普的說法，達坦家族犯下的罪行，猶如天上的星星一般。

卡普在接下波特卡斯·D·艾斯以後，開始找能接下他的人。很快地，卡普以放棄追究達坦家族為條件，要求達坦幫他照顧艾斯。隨後也以相同的理由，要求他們幫忙養魯夫。原本達坦與艾斯等人互不信任。但之後，開始相處得越來越好。
頂上戰爭[ | ]
艾斯死後，達坦佔據了佛夏村酒館，並對卡普興師問罪。同時喊說要魯夫振作起來。[2]

達坦家族慶祝魯夫回歸。
When the Dadan Family received newspapers detailing the return of Luffy and his crew, they are seen throwing a party while Dadan is shown making a scrapbook of Luffy's actions, much like what she did with Ace's.[3]
全世界的甲板 5億男篇[ | ]
The family was seen at Partys Bar celebrating Luffy's new bounty after Doflamingo's defeat. They also appeared to have learned of Sabo's survival and wore a similar hat to celebrate it.[4]
和之國篇[ | ]
世界會議之後，達坦家族收到了薩波的消息。全員難以置信地哭了。[5]
