卡普在接下波特卡斯·D·艾斯以后，开始找能接下他的人。很快地，卡普以放弃追究达坦家族为条件，要求达坦帮他照顾艾斯。随后也以相同的理由，要求他们帮忙养鲁夫。原本达坦与艾斯等人互不信任。但之后，开始相处得越来越好。

When the Dadan Family received newspapers detailing the return of Luffy and his crew, they are seen throwing a party while Dadan is shown making a scrapbook of Luffy's actions, much like what she did with Ace's.[3]

The family was seen at Partys Bar celebrating Luffy's new bounty after Doflamingo's defeat. They also appeared to have learned of Sabo's survival and wore a similar hat to celebrate it.[4]
